  1. I have his 3D printed 328 BMW coupe body. Sorry, should have been more specific.
  2. Gramps46

    GT40/GT3

Wow Brian, very striking color scheme. Those wheels sure do make a big difference.
  3. This is my bench. I bought the tall kitchen cabinets cheap when a big box store went out of business. The counter tops and drawer knobs came from a kitchen remodel and the chair out of the dumpster when my office building was being remodeled. I like the tall bench so the work area is at almost eye level when sitting down or tall enough to work standing up.
  4. My hats off to my friend Pico then. I have one of his bodies. Impressive.
  5. Auto Kits maybe?
  6. I have been enjoying and inspired by the photos here so I guess I had better share some of my favorite diorama photos taken on film a couple of decades ago..
  7. I hope these photos might help as they are the only ones in my files showing the carbs. The one caption says center pivot 780 Holley. Hope it helps.
  8. The #13 on the decal sheet is Tom Payne's CSX3020 and I took this photo myself with my Kodak Instamatic at Mid Ohio.
  9. I agree with you on prices on EBay and they can be all over the place depending on condition. The one I have is missing the radiator cap and came from an estate sale. The Traveller is a true 1/24 which makes the SAICO versions look tiny. I too prefer building my own but with my trembling hands things like bare metal foil are almost impossible.
  10. The #183 is one of my favorites, CSX 3013, the Scuderia Filipinetti car at Ollon-Villars driven by Herbert Muller. #73 is the same car at St. Ursanne-Les Rangiers.
  11. The registry says it was painted Mercedes silver. CSX3176 1966 #7 at Sebring red, with full width roll bar. Still looking for engine. Though the registry does not say it I am pretty certain it raced at Daytona in 1967 but in blue with Herb Byrne-Russell Beazell-Dick Thetford driving. Same number, same roll bar, same exhaust.
  12. David, (Reference the Corgi thread) The only suggestions for your time period are the relatively new Hachette Collection Traveller and the Franklin Mint Bentley. Or there might be a Jaguar passing by looking for a family car. ;-) Franklin Mint, modified BBurago, and Monogram. It is kind of sad but it seems many of the Franklin Mint cars are coming up for sale as the original collectors have now aged and have to liquidate their collections..
  13. Very impressive undertaking William and I wish you the very best. If you need any reference photos just let me know. Gary
  14. Pat, Your engines are a work of art. Thank you for sharing them and providing inspiration for the rest of us.
  15. I like it a lot. Cool idea, great execution.
  16. Thank you Jason for the photos, a big help to get started. Emart provides absolutely no shooting instructions which would have been helpful. Gary
  17. Based upon your photos Santa brought me the Emart photo set up. Would you please post how you positioned your lights and any tips that would be helpful. Thanks, Gary
  18. Art, Thank you for posting the background on the CORDs et al. I always admired Lee's work too. I recently posted a thread about Guido on another forum and his catalog of resin casings was pretty amazing and unique but his personality was shall we say difficult. Art thank you
  19. Excellent craftsmanship on the build and you are to be congratulated on working through the challenges. Gary
  20. Very very nice. One of my favorite Dinos.
  21. I am impressed with what you have done with the engine and its basic shape in 3D. Oh, and thank you for the pictures. Gary
  22. David, The paintings on the wall add class to the setting as you would expect in a Rolls dealership, clever idea. I am anxious to see how your 3D printed engines come out, pictures please. Gary
  23. Ben, The outer rims were shinny because they were machined I am thinking but the centers are as cast and would be darker as you suggest. I use an app called Paint to reduce the size of my photos.
  24. Super nice and what a save!
  25. Congratulations on your project.
