Very nice, and a classic color scheme! Mine had the molding issue on the passenger front wheelwell, but a piece of styrene strip and some putty fixed it pretty good. Once you get past that and trim all the flash, it's actually a pretty nice kit. Hopefully they fixed that molding problem for the full bumper release.

The details on this are outstanding!! And I love the color!

427 Cobra wheels ?
Dragonhawk1066 replied to Jon Haigwood's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I needed a set for my Gumball Rally movie car project and couldn't find any for a reasonable price. I had the Revell kit with the red box art with the wire wheels, so I just bought another kit, the Revell Streetburner kit. I almost bought a set from 3D Model Specialties by rolsen01 on Shapeways, but I love Cobras so I just bought another one, LOL. -
I built this one (not very well) as a youngster back in the early-mid 80's. I loved the kit, I just didn't have the patience or skills as a, I think, 14 or 15 year old when I built it, LOL. Now that I've been back building for the last 3 years, this has become my "Grail Kit"!

Just a quick build of the Bill Elliott Thunderbat. Painted in Apple Barrel Jet Black craft paint and cleared with Decoart Duraclear Gloss Varnish, then decaled, then cleared with Pledge Floor Gloss. The interior/cage/chassis was just left in the Rustoleum 2X black primer. I know these are supposed to be red in as raced trim, but I think the flat black gives it a better Batman-like appearance. I didn't do much detailing on this one as I just wanted to test a few techniques and check the gloss of the clear for another project. Anyways, I'm happy with the outcome and it will look good in my display case. Thanks for looking!!

I can see Cooter's Tow Truck selling, possibly better in non-Dukes livery. The Ventura II Sprint and Fast Pack Grand Prix seem to have a bit of a following on these forums, so those would probably do well. The AMT Petty Race Team would probably sell good as well, since those Trucks seem to be a popular item at the moment and one can usually do no wrong when it comes to Richard Petty based kits. My personal faves would be the Red Alert and SSlasher Chevelle's and depending on if the MPC SS454 could be built stock, or any 1971/1972 Chevelle kit for that matter. I'm actually a little surprised any one of the Chevelle's hasn't been re-issued recently yet. Of course, my big hope is Revell continues it's course of re-issuing it's Muscle Car lineup and includes the '70 GTX, '68 and/or '69 GTO, 1970 Chevelle/Malibu SS454, and 1979/80/81 Camaro Z28 3'N 1 kit.

Nice one, looks great! I love the color and those massive meats in the back! Well done!

Looks good! Hopefully AMT/Round 2 has this one in their re-issue plans!

Looks good! One of my favorite kits from my youth.

1987 Porsche 930 Flachbau/Slantnose [1/24 Tamiya]

It's definitely much more brownish than I thought. Even though I dried overnight the wet clear coat instantly 'melted' the smoke layer in certain areas. Ideally I would do 2-3 very light mist coats of clear on top when using smoke or other clear colors. Thanks for the info! I have a few ideas for using the Smoke over an aluminum/light gunmetal paint scheme, so definitely some spoon tests coming in the future, lol. -

That looks good! I always wondered what Tamiya Smoke would look like sprayed over an aluminum/silver/gunmetal base. That dull red looks good as an interior color too. -
Very nice! What a sharp looking bunch! If I were to do that many of those, I would probably do the same color assortment.

That's a good looking re-do!

That's a beauty and a great looking interior!

1929 Ford Model A Sport Coupe Hot Rod

Very nice, flawless build!! -
That looks fantastic and I, as well, love the color!!

Thanks Steve, I appreciate it. If you can get past the front end, it really is a nice kit. Thanks Carl! Thanks Chris! Thank you Tommy! I was expecting at least one question about the red fenders, lol. I probably should have mentioned in the description that the idea/story with this one is more of a day 2/resto/clone that was redone by the "owner" from a base cutlass.

Thanks Guido! Thanks Gareth! I'm not totally happy with the grille fit on mine, and for some reason the front of the body seemed to squeeze in on final assembly causing the hood to not sit right despite fitting perfectly before mounting the body on the frame. Other than that, I was really impressed with the quality and fit of the kit, especially being a Lindberg.
