  3. Excellent job, looks great!
  4. Great color choice!
  5. Thanks Chris! Thank you Guido! Thanks Anders! Steve, all of your builds are top notch and you use great looking colors on them. Thank you for the color chart and info, I tried looking at some online and couldn't get a good gauge on the actual colors. I never would have thought I was close to a factory color, I like that one in the pic. Either the Burgundy Mist or Grenadier Red look like they could be the color of my parents' car, at least based on my failing memory. I'll have to see if my mom still has any old pics of it hanging around anywhere next time I see her. You have nothing to apologize for based on your thoughts of the color, I took no offense and actually chuckled as I can see how it would be a strange color to get used to. Thanks again for the positive comments on my build, your opinion is always welcomed.
  6. Thanks guys!! Thanks Steve! Yeah, it's not exactly a factory offered color, lol. I was looking through my colors and that one just jumped out at me. My parents had a plain '70 Cutlass in either a purple or dark burgundy that was the first car I ever remembered riding in as a youngster, so this color kind of reminds me of that.
  7. I'll need one of these, I just picked up the AMT '55 Chevy at Hobby Lobby on Monday. I'm also looking for a nice building '56 and '57 Chevy, so I'll be halfway there when this is released. The box art is cool to a certain degree, showing the stock and custom versions, but I'll be building it somewhere in-between.
  8. Turned out excellent for a bad luck build!
  9. Thanks guys! Much appreciated! Thanks Greg! No offense taken, it is a cheap paint job, lol. The paint runs around $2.19 and the clear about $1.99, and with how much I used I could probably do 5 cars with the paint and 8-10 with the clear. Thanks everyone! I appreciate it!
  10. Very nice!
  11. Looks great, nicely done! Great job on the roof!
  12. AMT's 1969 Oldsmobile W-30 442 is finished. The paint is Decoart Dazzling Metallics craft paint that was thinned with plain blue automotive windshield washer fluid and sprayed through my airbrush. I used Decoart Gloss Varnish for the clear coat, also thinned with windshield washer fluid and airbrushed on. The interior was left in Stynylrez black primer with Decoart Satin Varnish brushed on, and some of the seat was coated with pledge/future for contrast. I added plug wires, valve stems, door locks and heater hoses for more detail, added a touch of weathering to the chassis, and used BMF for the trim is BMF. This is a pretty nice kit even though the engine/trans/driveshaft/rear end final fitting fought me a bit, and I really enjoyed it. Thanks for looking!!
  13. I might be interested in some of those. As usual though, I will wait for hpiguys build/review before pulling the trigger on any "new" AMT or MPC kits.
  14. Very nice and clean looking build! I really need to get one of these kits for myself.
  15. Looks fantastic! Great job on the vinyl top!
  16. Looks great! Well done!
  17. I like that color! I love using craft paints, especially when mixing colors because it's so easy to do.
  18. I was fortunate and blessed to have the opportunity to go on a spending spree at Hobby Lobby, and lucky that they still had 40% off unlimited model kits still going on. They were actually kind of picked over, but I still managed to find a bunch that I have been wanting for a while. The one near me has a decent selection (at least in my opinion) and even though the '65 Foose Impala, Revell '68 Charger 2'n1, '32 Ford 2'n1, '66 GTO, and Kenworth W-900 were sold out, I still was able to snag all of these. The '69 Camaro and '83 Hurst/Olds were bought at Michaels for $13 and $14 respectively after their 20% off all regular priced items. After this spree, I probably won't be able to buy any more kits for about another year, but boy did I have fun, LOL!! My wife even talked me into the Grease Ford, the AMT Shelby Mustang and the AMT '70 Chevelle, and yes, there were still some kits left on the shelf when I was done, lol.
  19. That's another masterpiece Randy! Well done in every way!
  20. Nice job on both! An interesting comparison as well.
  21. That turned out really nice! Great job!
