  1. I would leave it as it is, you're so far along. But, if it bothers you enough, I took a slight vertical wedge out of the rear, top near the back window and leaned the back window area in. I also added a wedge of plastic into the B pillar to add some angle to it. Since you want to change the vinyl top anyway, you can make these mods while you're sanding off the roof and retrim it after all the bodywork is finished. Don't forget to fix the shape of the quarter windows, they're supposed to trapezoidal - not mail slots. Here's a side profile to use for reference. Personally, I think Revell got the roof on the Monte Carlo all wrong - too boxy. But, it's the ONLY collonade landau roof we have, so you gotta make do with what you got.
  2. That sure matches the picture Richard. I would have to agree with you on that.
  3. Off to a good start, looks good - especially for a "practice body" I also started a Cutlass Supreme using the same parts, except mine is from a 75. I got the roof to fit, but I didn't like the boxiness of the Monte Carlo roof, so I'm in the process of reworking it to my satisfaction. Problem with the Cutlass Supreme (75 at least) is there is a difference in the nose from that and the regular Cutlass. And a few trim differences. 74 ? 75 ☝ 75 sport coupe? See how the nose differs from the kit? I don't know if the 73 is the same or not. I hope not, cause that would save you a lot of modifications. I wish I had a 73, I really like the front and rear bumpers on those. The Johan 73s are hard to find. Good luck with your conversion.
  4. This is a fun thread! So much excitement over the kit and so many great ideas on what to do with it.
  5. I'm just happy to know that this old AMT tool took the long way around to come back as an AMT kit - never thought I'd see that happen again. BTW - are the Corvette hubcaps included in this issue?
  6. Not strange, but very interesting. Thanks for sharing.
  7. But it's a sickness WORTH having!?
  8. Not without some obvious help. See what I mean. I say, great for Pam to age so gracefully, instead of trying to FORCE back the clock. Bravo Pam! Stay happy and enjoy your life.
  9. x20 Love those Caddies too? And don't waste tooling dollars on a Foose or Boyd one either!
  10. Those are really cool. I've never even seen the diecasts before. That'd make great cop cars! I keep looking at my walmart, but all they get is the same cars that I'm not interested in or that I can get as better detailed plastic kits. I wish they would stop using diecast molds to make plastic model kits.
  11. My 14 yr old son and I are an assembly line team, I modify and kitbash the car ideas I have in my head, he and I work at painting them together, then he finishes building them. That's his favorite part anyway, he wants to see them on display. And he gets the satisfaction of the finished product. Me - I hate the tedium of final assembly, just stifles my creativity. I don't know what I'll do after he grows up an moves on, but it's fun for now. I try to "force" my daughter to like building cars (just kidding), but it's just not her "bag man". Actually, she likes helping me work on the real cars and fixing up the house. So maybe her talents are better used in other ways. ?
  12. Only 8 a time? You need a bigger workbench. Lol Actually, I've resigned myself to the fact that the fun is in the building, not the end count that matters. Building is the stress valve that I need, required deadlines to complete them just makes it another job. Besides, once they're finished and displayed, they invariably get broken and then they go back in a box again anyway. Vicious cycle.
  13. IMO plastic surgery just makes it worse. Everytime they get a face pull, they end up looking more and more like the Joker Plus, lip injections end up looking like they just kissed a vacuum cleaner to me. I think Pam looks good for her age. She looks happy and healthy. We all can't look 20 years old forever guys!
  14. Didn't the 69 Hurst Olds have A/C. Seems to me an "Executive Hot Rod" would have come with it - standard. Also, maybe the 87 Buick Grand National, 86 Monte Carlo SS, 87 Tbird Turbo Coupe, 89 Pontiac Grand Prix, 87-up Mustang GT Convertible, 89 up Tbird SuperCoupe and Cougar. 84up Corvette (Monogram)
  15. That's nice! I like realistic looking slot cars.
  16. I've always wanted to build a car that had been in an accident, but the realization that there is a lot more detail to create than just the outward damage. There is going to be parts and internals hanging out of the battle zone, and all of that paraphernalia has to be scratchbuilt carefully to look accurate. A proposition that overwhelms me to complete. But I do admire someone who can do the research and diligence to see it through. Keep up your project, I can't wait to see how it turns out.
  17. Just so you know, A tire with that big of a chunk taken out of it will NOT be able to hold air. That and there would be cables and cords hanging all out of the hole. Basically, it would have gotten all torn up when the car hit the rock and then had to slow down afterwards.
  18. Can't be the General Lee, it's not wrecked ---- yet. Seriously, probably was one of the last ones that never got jumped. But leave it to Hollywood to find a way to completely eliminate all 69 Chargers off the face of the earth.
  19. Yeah, that way makes more sense!
  20. Oooo, great to know!!! Thanks for that! I'm hoping Hooby Lobby gets it soon.
  21. I'm willing to bet it comes down to licensing for all of the music that was used in the show. It took them FOREVER to get enough of the song rights to be able to release WKRP in Cincinnati on DVD, so I'll bet they're thinking they'll never be able to recoup their investment on doing that for this show. Especially nowadays when most people just stream TV shows and don't even own DVDs anymore. I've also noticed that younger generations don't even watch old TV shows like this. Hardly anything over 10-15 years is even available to purchase. Sad but true for us old fogies.
  22. I have an extra LRE if you're interested in trading... Pm me.
  23. While I greatly appreciate this issue, and I will have to get at least a couple copies of it, I do wish they had included the Suzuki dirt bike and the clear camper shell from the late 70s issues of this truck. Maybe they could see fit to include them in a 4x4 version in the future! The only other thing I wish it included would be stock "Dodge" decals for the tailgate and stock graphics for the sides. However, I am happy to see this "blast from the past" return again! P.S. I don't miss the 1/20 scale racing slicks posing for off road tires, though.
  24. Fair enough, but even in this "digital age" toolmakers are still making many goofs in the accuracy department. Which I'm finding inexcusable when there is so much reference material available.
  25. Any more pictures of it from other angles?
