  1. Looks like they used the fenders from a f500, those wheelwells are HUGE!
  2. I've always wondered if that would make it a "Rolling Molotov Cocktail" Great job, I never realized that SNAP KIT looked so good!
  3. 2 years old and taken off the road, wonder what happened? Those trucks are indestructible.
  4. Your friend has done a lot of good work to it already, at this point, I'd say repaint and detail the cab and make it match the rest of his high quality work. We Yanks don't see those veteran rigs on our roads much anymore, either.
  5. Double check that rust, that frame looks crusty. Make sure it's not fatal. Best wishes on your purchase.
  6. I recently cleaned out the paint shelves in my garage. Many of the cans were old (20-30 years, some even older). I had to toss out a bunch of cans that leaked and STUCK to the shelf. All were Testors brand, no other brands. I had written them off to being old and due to storage in the garage for so long, where the temperature fluctuates a lot. But, yours weren't that old and you said you stored them indoors, so maybe you're onto something.
  7. Look closely, That's the same building used in the old picture. Those are the same windows that sold the "legendary Buddy L gas stations"!
  8. As far as I know, the one he has now is the REAL BJ&B truck. Here's pictures I found of him pulling it out of a field after he purchased it - no resto, no touch ups. And the trailer, interesting to note that he used the Movin' On truck to pull the parts. Ah, the brotherhood of TV show rigs! Greg Evigan approved!
  9. BTW - here's two views of a 73 formal roof Cutlass Supreme. Notice the nose has a bit of a snoot to it. Simple enough, just extend it out. And let's bow our heads for a Hurst that didn't make it...RIP
  10. I agree, I suggest adding a wedge shape to the front of the B pillar and blend it into the body. Then sand the shape to the correct angle. Then open up the front of the quarter window to match the angle of the new B pillar. You're well on your way - it's looking better and better. Keep it up. Patrick
  11. That truck wasn't lowered, looks like the rust ate up all of the floorboards and the body fell down over the chassis. That rust effect is just too realistic!
  12. Johan is the basis by which all other bodies should be judged. "Johan - accept no substitutes" Shame they weren't as respected in their day. When we could buy them new for $5 each!
  13. He always resin casts his own. He must have a giant collection of moulds. Greg, you gotta share with us!
  14. Great shot, car looks real! Perfect choice of color, very smooth. Hard to believe you got it from a spray can. Keep on building!
  15. If you do decide to trade it away, let me know. I wouldn't want you to be burdened with that awful mess!?
  16. Specifications on their website say it has a prepainted, precut, POLYCARBONATE body. Which means it's vacuum formed - not injection molded.
  17. Uh oh, better get Maaco. Excellent job!
  18. As simple as that, and it's currently available!
  19. Standards that never came to pass. That's also the same reason they got rid of the convertibles too.
  20. Here you go Phil. These are some older pics from a couple years ago. The body has primer on it now and I have a hood and bumpers shaped up to fit it. I'll try to find it and send you some updated shots. I used the 69 Olds 442 chassis and firewall for strength - both fit perfectly for it. I'll post some shots of my Cutlass Supreme project soon, too.
  21. I saw that too, Bill. And we had the same advice, just mine's more "wordy" I also have a long time on/off project converting a Cutlass into a 73 Buick Century Luxus, a car my parents had when I was growing up and always wanted a model of one. But since that's never going to happen, I decided to make one myself. I'll have to post it someday, but I didn't want to hijack Phil's thread right now.
