  1. My wife'll kill me if I bring her sweets - and I'm not ready to die for my hobby!
  2. Whether he was THE crook or not - that would be the last time I would ever buy anything from him again! Charging a whopping $150 firm and not even verifying that it was 100% complete makes me doubt his credibility for anything else he sells. He probably knew those parts were missing and stuck you for it without even telling you upfront about the discrepancy. What'd he care, he'd be gone with your money before you'd ever find out. I'm glad you were able to make lemonade from that lemon. I would have been too sick to continue with it! Sure looks good behind that woody.
  3. "Spittake"??? That made me laugh!
  4. Don't you understand what he's got? Why, I've been looking for a storage box like that for 25 years. It's out of production and is sooo rare. It's made of unobtainium, and it's been outlawed in China as a hazardous material. I'll have to pay him 5x what he's asking just to make sure nobody else gets it. And then I'll sell it on Barrett-Jackson. I'll be rich!!!?$$$$
  5. True, but only as a curbside, with no engine or chassis detail. I wish it was done like the MPC 84 Supra - full detail, with optional parts!
  6. I didn't know Johnny Lightning made full size diecast cars?
  7. Don't worry about replys to me, I know you read and consider all the suggestions. Just keep doing what you're doing, you're doing an awesome job! Don't get burnt out from stress, we are enjoying your products. Do what you need to do at the pace you need to do it.
  8. Given the popularity of vintage Japanese cars in real life and since we're dreaming... These are some of my ideas - "bread and butter" cars (with optional race parts) Datsun, Toyota, Honda, Mazda and Mitsu Pickups, This last one, I'm dying to make a black "Marty McFly" version from Back to the Future. Honorable Mentions,
  9. Beautiful build, but I think it's the Revell kit. Still looks good, though.
  10. That's probably where they got most of the cars that they used for the show (Emergency) as many were practically brand new at the time (but wrecked) and they would be tearing them apart with the "jaws of life".
  11. That came out really nice, especially for having been away for a couple of decades. You must've had some skills back then! Keep on building.
  12. This was in Emergency! Season 1, episode 8 Season 6, Episode 8 Season 5, episode 8. Lotus Europa - destroyed! Season 4, episode 9 Season 6, episode 7 Ex-Rockford Files car?
  13. "This kit isn't that old and already 3 different box arts" Um, isn't this kit about 60 years old - not exactly "NEW"
  14. I have to disagree, the Fiat proportions look much better!
  15. I've just spent a few hours on IMCDB.org (international movie car database) just looking up all the cars used on two of my favorite TV car shows - Emergency! and CHiPs. There are sooo many great action shots of interesting, vintage vehicles as they looked in their heyday - on the streets as daily drivers. Some of which are very rare and prized today! Great site for ideas and inspiration.
  16. Car looks great! I wonder why nobody at the gas station is even looking at it
  17. Does make me wonder if the driver in the car made it out unscathed, check out what happened to the trophy in the second photo - and that was above his head in the first photo!
  18. That's goona be one heck of an insurance claim - or lawsuit.
  19. I remember seeing your "before" pics and what a mess it was when you started. It sure looks great now and I'm so impressed that you were able to finish it. I would have just given up on it back then. Congrats! Another dead one back from the grave.
  20. Looks extra clean and classy, I think the AMT version looks more accurate than the Revell. You really did it justice.
  21. Fun story. Have you considered building a few more variations of the truck to go with the story? I'd like to see it the day he brought it home, the day AFTER he hit the deer and the sad remains just before he got rid of it. It'd be like an illustrated history of the life of one truck. Well done, Chuck.
  22. True dat, and they take up less room in the garage too!
  23. That's a great tool. Now, I have to get one! Question - how permanent is the acrylic paint? Do you need to seal it to keep it from flaking off in the future?
  24. Nice job, car looks real! But I can't imagine anyone spending that much money on making a REAL Pacer look like this.
