Holdup! Now if they were talking about cloning Johan tools, that would open up a whole new world of possibilities. But I can't help but wonder if that would involve copyright infringement. I would only want to see the Super Fly if it was a straight reissue, retooling this GP into anything but stock (or at least a 3n1) would be limited at best. Personally, I think the tool for this and the S&C Mustang may exist. Unless outright scrapped, they have never been modified into anything else.

A while back, I started a street rod build using this body on a Revell 32 Ford chassis and fenders - makes a wicked looking profile! I trimmed off the flared wheelwells and those humps... Then lost interest. Would've looked good though.

I was going to suggest the firewall and inner fenders too. With those in place, it can't stay bent! -

Custom taillights for the AMT 63 Vette? IIRC, the MPC 76 Ventura taillights are chrome, not red.

1964 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible.

Yeah, but there is a certain satisfaction for the builder, knowing it's there. It's kinda fun looking back at old builds an reinspecting your own work and seeing details you, yourself, forgot you put in. -
My son bought the tanker because he liked the subject. For 1/48, They're actually bigger than you'd think. Now if someone were to come up with a 50s Pete to go with the tanker, you'd be well on your way to creating the rig from "Duel".

Kit Review! MPC 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Annual!
Oldcarfan27 replied to RDean58's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Different emblems between years. 65 fuel injection 66 big block I'm not sure what year my car is, I'll have to check the emblems to see which one I have. -

I like the results and I like the color! Revell should issue a modified version of this truck. -
That's an appropriate color for cars of this era. You made it look good and clean. I've got a couple of these kits and just can't decide on what to do with it. With that roofline, it looks like it shouldve been a 4dr rather than a 2dr.

Had to laugh when I saw this photo, looks like someone jacked his wheels while he was on a job! Finished truck came out great. Glad to see they caught the culprits who stole the wheels. ? -

Bodywork is looking great! Are you going to leave the Cobra grille? I don't think that option was available on the Ranchero. -

I think I have a reasonable guess, with evidence. The Mission Impossible 68 Coronet convertible! Round 2 is currently working on the Super Bee, which is going to be a convertible. The tooling is gone for the 68 Dodge and would need to be cloned. That includes the M.I. kit, which was actually a 69 model year and incorrect for the TV car. The car was customized for the TV show, so it was not stock. Here's hoping they make it more like the TV show car this time. However: 2nd runner up would be Mannix. An obsolete custom that would need to be cloned and with the "Californian" kit just released - the drivetrain is available!

Kit Review! MPC 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Annual!
Oldcarfan27 replied to RDean58's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I'd hope that MPC would get that right. AFAIK, MPCs first Corvette was the 64. They never made a 63, so they didn't have the chrome pillars to correct. -
Looks like the Hot Wheel I had when I was a kid. One of my favorites too! Where did you get the decals from?

Do you think there would be any chance of cutting and sectioning this to even come close to looking like a Starfire? If it was 1/25 I'd like to give it a try, but when it's "somewhere around" 1/32nd scale, I don't even have enough donors to cull parts from. Where would you even find the right roof? I do like that it clearly says "Oldsmobile" in the rear panel. How smooth do you think licensing would go if Palmer were around today?

Mako Shark II makes sense, but pretty sure they still have the tool reasonably intact, so they wouldn't need to clone it. Just modify it back, that would take care of it.

No way, Bondo wasn't around then. 2 sticks of lead for that realistic touch! ? Speaking of Barris - I then thought of the Hirohata Merc, but that was never a kit. But it SHOULD be!!
