  1. Looking great so far, gotta love them glue bombs. Those wheels look right on for that car!
  2. Makes sense. Let go of the wheel so you don't break a nail upon impact! When I was learning, I was taught "Cover your brake, anticipate others to do the unexpected." A tool I've never forgotten.
  3. That's a nice Elky, Steve!
  4. I'm interested is the responses for this thread as I have a similar long term project. My parents owned a 66 Tempest hardtop, Tahoe Turquoise with matching interior. The taillights have been my stumbling block, too. I just contemplated a part to use. Would a 1/16 scale grooved brake rotor possibly provide a basis for the lights? Just thinking out loud.
  5. Reminds me of the Explorer Sport Trac.
  6. Maybe they should put airbags on the OUTSIDE of the car, along with padding on all the street curbs to prevent negligent pedestrian injury. Honestly, I see more and more people crossing streets at any place they feel like, anyplace but actual crosswalks. Like Les said, it's not all driver error.
  7. I love these cars and Yes, I would want to see these issued. I have a personal interest in these cars. My dad used to tell me stories of both the '63 GP and the '64 Bonneville that he owned new. One story of how the driver of a 2 door Corvair pulled out of a driveway in front of him and became the owner of a Three-door Corvair!
  8. You mean the bad, the ugly and the really hideous!
  9. With all those decal options, I want those Camaros! VW vans, 442, SS396. Looks like there's going to be a lot of kits I'm going to want from this batch! Long wait for new announcements, then BOOM! Potpourri of good stuff!
  10. Great build and even better story! But I need to know what happened. I want to hear more of the story. Did he keep the car for a long time or did he trade it in for a Chevelle a few years later? Did he become hooked on drag racing and go pro? Did the car get wrecked and get parted out through an ad in the PennySaver?
  11. Lots of great additions to this thread. Glad to see them in one place!
  12. "Can you put this in a good spot, cause all this stuff happened last time I parked here!"
  13. Sad you got rid of it, sounds like it was a beauty. Those trucks have a loyal following. I would've done the Chevy swap. 350s are cheap and everywhere, they run forever, parts are inexpensive and easy to find and there must be an adapter kit for something like that - I know they have them for CJs. Probably could've had a local mechanic or local college school do the work and saved $$$.
  14. Just the fact that the car continued for 30 years with hardly any changes says a ton about the original design. 4 door version excepted. ?
  15. Your build looks excellent. I bet Round 2 is rolling their eyes at us and saying, "We spent all that time redoing it and they're building like it was before we started. Should have ran it as it was! ARGHH!!!" ? I doubt they're too unhappy, I've bought a few copies myself. Plan to buy more.
  16. That's a beautiful car he has. Treat it gently and he'll let you drive it more!! Although, a high school parking lot is not exactly the safest venue to tool around with a classic car.
  17. Nevermind, two minutes on Google and I found my answer. https://muppet.fandom.com/wiki/Fozzie's_Studebaker Google is my friend!!
  18. If that's the car from the movie (and it says it is), then what was it used for afterward to get it to looking like this? Looks like the car was modified to have a driver in the back of Fozzy, so what use would the car be for anybody else after that? Was it used in something else?
  19. That would be Tweety Bird. This one's a Pie, so purple means its blueberry.
  20. I'd like to see the "Hero" Imperial reissued. Or maybe retooled back to stock. So if you could buy both, that would double my chances. ? Since your credit card is open, how about 66-69 Pontiac Bonnevilles? Your pick, I'm not fussy!
  21. I'm sorry, I missed the memo on the AMT new tool movie car. Can anybody update me on the details? What clues have they announced? I want to play the guessing game too!
  22. Or spaghetti! I wonder how many noodles per gallon that car gets.
  23. I almost couldn't tell the difference.
  24. If you're looking at the Vintage Photos site I attached, you've got quite a ways to go... 6712 pages before they locked it down! But it's all gold for reliving the past.
