I blame Fast & Furious movies and social media for all this stupidity. Every young hero thinks he's a automotive star and is capable of doing these insane stunts simply for the social recognition and "likes". Every intersection, parking lot and quiet street is becoming their racetrack and the rest of us risk becoming their accident statistic. I'm fed up with it. Unfortunately, they've probably learned it from their dad's stories reminiscing about the "great old times they had getting drunk and street racing on major thoroughfares". Forgetting to tell their kids about the major crash one of them inflicted on somebody else's dead family member. Great fun indeed. ??

1978 Dodge pickup
Oldcarfan27 replied to asfastasu's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Excellent build. Great color choice! Just remember, don't mix radials and bias-ply tires. -
Hard to believe those are 1/32 scale. You don't usually see that much detail in such a small size.

Sooo, judging by the direction of the headers, does the engine exhaust go forward into the cabin? Holy Carbon Monoxide, Batman!!!

1969 Camaro SS396 still on MSO
Oldcarfan27 replied to Foghorn Leghorn's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
No need to worry about the registration - that car will probably never make it back on the street. It's a trailer/museum piece from now on. -
Welcome aboard. Please show us your progress on Squad 51 and please be sure to post the finished truck here: Emergency! was also one of my favorite shows when I was growing up. Found out how much the show reflected a lot of realistic information from that time period. Research the show - there's a lot of great facts that went on in the show!

I like the illustration of the car, but I doubt Paul Bunyan would even fit inside it. He looks GIANT!!!

72 GMC short bed

Both trucks look great! I sure wish Round 2 would bring back the GMC variation of this kit. Fleet or Stepside - both would be great. -

Now just get a Monogram and have the trifecta! Fun project for a quickie fixer. I've got so many of these glue bomb Revell Camaros, that I personally wouldn't have given a "Snake-foo" of one a second thought. Maybe I should pay closer attention to the possibilities that lurk in my junk pile.

There was an article in Truckin' magazine way back in the 80s where the owner did this same sectioning to a 60something Chevy pickup and he put stacked quad-headlights and a tube grill on his, but I don't think the whole thing worked out as good as yours is going. I like the styling line through the middle, it adds to the sense of motion and keeps it from looking too slab-sided.

Fantastic! Thanks for putting your hand in the first pictures. I couldn't tell if it was a real car. -

Glad to see Round 2 is attempting to get models positioned in WalMarts again. I hope they succeed, I'd like to find them in more local locations besides Hobby Lobby. -
PMC '59 Ford Ranchero: Ex-Friction Toy Goes Mild Custom!
Oldcarfan27 replied to John Goschke's topic in Model Cars
Stunning! What kind of plastic is it molded in? Originating as a toy, I always thought they came in that rubbery, acetate plastic. That's why I never tried very hard to find one. Thought about mixing a Skyliner and a Ranchero to get one though. -
Shocking, yet refreshing to see a vintage Ferrari in a color other than red.

Looks great. I've wanted to do a fully-detailed version, but good build-up reference photos aren't that easy to find online. Guess ol' Barris ran out of film on this one.

Wow, the lights are awesome! What'd you use, fiber optics? Where is the bulb and battery, Hope you didn't use plutonium to power it. ?

Excellent builds, great color choices.

Great styling. Studebaker could've survived longer if they had updated the Starliner using your ideas!
