  1. Ah, you mean this one: https://www.classicdriver.com/en/article/cars/ferraris-new-fxx-k-1000-horsepower-catapult LOL Joking aside, you mean the 410 Superamerica?
  2. Sure I do. But my son and me were more into those 1000hp muscle cars, Dodge Challenger Hellcat and the like...
  3. I use Pacer's canopy glue.
  4. Now that's really useful info, I've been using it years but I've always kept a cigarette lighter close by to heat the tube & melt the glue when it clogged. I'll be doing as you do Mike from now on. Thank you. When I used this glue back in the day, I sealed the needle with a piece of fishing-line... Worked fine too.
  5. There always is, as far as I'm concerned! But it will be hard to stop me from using that dental floss care stuff...
  6. Okay, duely noted. Could we agree that it belongs on the should-be-available-to every-modeler-and-not-just-the-rich-and/or-fortunate-ones list? Serious, Will?? It sure drives like h**l but it to me it looks very much like "form follows function". With function clearly having the upper hand... That said, I believe ROG have a valid licence to do McLaren's...
  7. You are absolutely right about this. It can be easily checked on the 2 photos in the very first post of this thread: there's the one of the lime-green original car and the one with the box art below that, showing a built model. It will look better once corrected too. I assume changing this is less work than drilling out all the grille holes... @Adam: I like your work on this, will keep following!
  8. Hi Mike, I'll be following your progress on this. I have the Monogram 1/24 scale "20th Anniversary TransAm" kit which looks pretty much the same. I bought it used, stripped of paint, but other than that, with a lot less work to do on it than you'll have with yours...
  9. Dann, you forgot the most important one: And I wouldn't mind to see another dream car of my childhood...: And another one:
  10. Nothing to show about that, Brian. As I said, I just sprayed some yellow onto a spoon, to see how smoothly the paint will flow through the AB and if the finish is really "eggshell" and hard, as they say. It is and the spraying was fine. I bought a bunch of colors in the second step last summer but for some reason have not done more intensive testing so far. One major point for me will be the gloss coat. What's the finish like, is it sandable, polishable etc.? I should take the opportunity now...
  11. Has anyone used the clear coat from Mission Models so far? https://www.missionmodelsus.com/collections/clear-coats I have heard only good things about these colors. Myself, I did only do a test spraying yellow so far, but that was nice and easy... Edit: I saw Brian's post just now...
  12. Correct: https://www.scalemates.com/search.php?fkSECTION[]=All&q=audi+esci I'm curious about the Porsche 956. If the image is correct, it will be a "Kurzheck" (short tail), so a non-Le Mans version. Which is very rare on 956 kits as, for instance, all of the Tamiya kits represent the "Langheck" (long tail, mostly Le Mans) versions. The only 956 Kurzheck kit I know about is the Protar one. Now wouldn't that be something... Furthermore, I am very surprised about and anxiously awaiting their release of the Lancia LC2 in it fabulous Martini livery...
  13. That's what I heard from someone well-informed... Good to see that the Porsche 918 Spyder is a "street rod": https://www.revell.com/products/cars/street-rods/ Just thinking, isn't it strange that the Ford GT LM 2017 is a ROG-only kit? I mean, it was the other way round with the C7-R, it was a US kit first and then later released by ROG aswell. But this is somewhat odd I think...
  14. Thanks Mark. Although I have had much too many kits already, I wouldn't want to miss any of these 13, all of which were on my wishlist. The Gran Torino certainly is the "rare gem" of the lot, but all the others are quite hard to find over here either. Will try to deliver myself now, if you know what I mean...
  15. Given the circumstances, this is not too bad an outcome, I gather. Besides that, there were at least 2 brand-new ones (68 Chevelle and 69 Mustang). The Chevelle will be sold officially by ROG too, btw. Different boxing, same kit.
  16. And here (although the wheels are a bit over-the-top for me...):
  17. Keeps looking very nice, Dann. The Lotus logo will be a nice touch on the floormats!
  18. For information regarding which snap kits will be in the 2019 Revell US range, see my other post here (last image shows the snap kits):
  19. The new Revell 2019 catalogue will be presented there today. It contains the Revell US models aswell. See my other post here:
  20. Got some Revell news yesterday. The molds for all Revell US models have been dispatched to Revell in Germany and are being stored there. So ROG will be taking care of having the kits molded in their Poland and China production facilities. The good news is that those kits obviously will remain on the market under the Revell brand. Furthermore I had the chance to take a look at the new Revell 2019 cataloque already which will be officially presented today on the Nuremberg Toy Fair. I was very but happily surprised to see that the whole range of Revell US kits is contained in that cataloque aswell in the "USA" catagory. I thought this might be interesting to some so I made some snapshots:
  21. That's a polite way of saying, stick to reality... Which is...: I fully agree. Besides that I never quite got what group these kits were targeted at: kids, lazy modelers... To me they are an adequate way of finishing a reasonable-looking model within a short timeframe. I myself can define which additional details need/ should be added. The only real downside of most of those snap kits (the Revell ones at least) are those adhesive stickers instead of decals. That's where I need to look for replacement which isn't always that easy in Germany. MPC or AMT snap kits which I have seen carry BOTH versions (stickers AND decals) which is the right way to go IMHO. Anyways, some of the next models I will be building will be some of those snappers. Probably starting with the Chevelle '70 pretty soon. Looking forward to that (need to arrange for stripe decals first though)...
  22. Haha, funny, that this review is coming up now... Little story... From time to time, I undertake new attempts to get my 10- (nearly 11-)year old son into modelling. He started on a Dodge Viper SRT 10 two years ago or so but never really finished it. So I thought a cool-looking Snap kit like the '77 Monte Carlo (the red one with the flames) could whet his appetite. After I received the Monte Carlo kit I ordered for him, I saw the link on rightonreplicas.com which is referred to above - and I saw what can be done with this kit. I fell in love with this kit and had a hard time convincing, no, persuading my son to "release" the kit I actually bought for him. These snap kits are pretty rare over here and the Monte Carlo one especially, otherwise I would have just ordered another one. He finally gave in to my desperation but since then is calling me childish... I probably am!
  23. Agreed 100%. Thanks for NOT doing this in silver. And this is a very nice build.
  24. Hi David, this is a beautiful result. Liquid Red has been my favorite color on the GT from day one and the Gravity colors red looks good on yours. Do I understand correctly that this requires a separate golden basecoat? Zero Paints has released that color now also but it doesn't have (and require) the metallic base...
