Yeah, especially as they were rather fair priced. At around half of what's normally being asked...

I got me some kits right from the "source" in Japan: Nice to see some formerly rare old Fujimi EM kits coming back at reasonable prices. The Fujimi LeMans RSR is a pretty new kit and the Aoshima/Beemax 935 K2 is a brand new one... And these I bought recently on Ebay, they are on their way...

Dann, that is really a marvelous paint job. At first I thought you were using decals, but then again, this is the fave PAINT job section, right? Incredibly good works on that Rolls...
-
Totally agree, and you did a great job on the panel lines too!
-
My opinion exactly. The result of the problem is that obvious I'm positive you'll find and eliminate it's cause! Btw, making black lines on the thin side of the front and rear lights glass parts with a marker will work a treat. And I like your diorama!

1989 Nissan Skyline GT-R R32 - Bayside Blue Godzilla
Tommy124 replied to Italianhorses's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Looks great indeed! But could it be that you mean 0.5 mm silver solder?? It doesn't look THAT thin to me... -
Well, it looks great anyway... And I thought these modern Aoshima kits were so well-designed...? You pretty much scare me from building one of my own kits...

Beautiful model! And again, those great and ultra-realistic looking panel lines... It may be mainly about technique (oh yes, I know that tutorial of yours...) but yet it's so hard to archieve results in this perfection.

Hi Dann, I will gladly wait for the photos of your windscreen issue fix. In return I‘ll post you details of a much cheaper source for the Pantera PE set you are looking for. Bestbalsakits in Belgium (I think that is the company you are referring to) is a well-stocked trader with prices similar to those of a jewelry shop...

Koenig Competition Ferrari Testarossa (1/24 scale by Fujimi)
Tommy124 replied to Tommy124's topic in Model Cars
At least the Gemballa wouldn’t show it’s tail to the Koenig, only 395hp compared to the 550hp Biturbo Koenig. Speaking of which, the tail lights on the Koenig have been taken from the Audi 200! ?- 43 replies

Koenig Competition Ferrari Testarossa (1/24 scale by Fujimi)
Tommy124 replied to Tommy124's topic in Model Cars
Hi Dann, nice, glad for you that you got the 2 kits. I have them aswell, but in the old boxings from the late 80s/ early 90s. In my Koenig department I also have the „beautiful“ 911, the 928 (we agree that this design on that one is much better!), the Testarossa in 1/16 scale and a resin transkit from C1 for converting the Revell Ferrari 308 GTB into a really beautiful Koenig version... Koenig‘s design has always been a matter of taste (be that a good or a bad one). But after 3 decades or so after they haven been designed they have at least to be looked as cool, I think. Btw, you think the Koenig 911 is the most ugly around? I don‘t think so... The Gemballa Avalanche is even worse imho. Funny that ROG once did a kit of this based on the Fujimi EM series Porsche 930.- 43 replies

Well done, Ludwig, as usual!

Looking at the photos, I might be tempted to do some corrective work afterwards. What would be the fix you mentioned? My idea would be using pieces of transparent sheet in order to replace the „bulletproof“ glass parts from the kit...

Two years ago, when I got back into the modelling hobby after a break of almost 20 years, I was focused on US car models of all various kinds. And I traded this Italeri kit against a Bullitt Mustang and a Plymouth Superbird. Molto stupido...

Hi folks, here's another one I built about a year ago. Fujimi curbside kit of the 800hp twin-turbo Testarossa by Koenig Specials, Munich, Germany. Hope you like it.

I've only seen now, that you built one too, Dann. Very nice. Not too fond of the rear wing really, I think it's somewhat chunky. But that's just the kit, you did great on the model, and the beautiful work on the Campagnolos... That would have to be the Group 4 Pantera, if I'm not mistaken...?

Thanks, happy that you like it too. Make sure to show yours aswell once it's finished!

Ah... it's a conversion, that's why I could not find car #87 on RSC: http://www.racingsportscars.com/type/photo/Ferrari/365 GTB__4.html Your progress is looking great so far, I'll surely follow your build!

Hasegawas Lamborghini Miura SV....new update!
Tommy124 replied to Dann Tier's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Hi Dann, many thanks for your efforts in explaining your process. No doubt about it, I will need to make myself a reasonable glue applicator too... Up to now I habe been mainly using pointed toothpicks, but there's a limit to how well that works. I have one more question though. Isn't it part of the process to intentionally fill some of the sanded "plastic dust" into the scratches, along with the CA? In your description it sounds to me like you rather cleaned the scratches from dust...?- 213 replies

Otaki 1/12 Lamborghini Countach Twin Turbo...Mission Statement
Tommy124 replied to Dann Tier's topic in WIP: Model Cars
This perfectly makes my point, as far as big scales are concerned. I think those releases have become a bit rare, with maybe some exceptions like the new 1/16 scale Porsche 356 by ROG. At least here in Germany big-scale kits are often regarded as "old men's kits", because their parts are not so small... Dann, your work here is just absolutely stunning and highly enjoyable to follow. Which is what I'll keep doing!- 363 replies

Thanks, Marcos... I'm glad you like it. Yes, time is what it takes with this kit. Detailing the engine bay and making the SB parts fit in such a way that they look half-way realistic was the main challenge for me... Btw, may I say I admire you builds and your panel lines technique especially? A few years ago you showed some fabulous builds on a German forum so your name rang a bell...
