Thanks Carl!? Some of the chrome in this kit is horrible! It’s too bad there is no quality control or cleanup of the parts before plating.? After paring all the barnacles off this windshield frame and smoothing the mold seams it is not possible to touch it up in my opinion. So…it’s in the pond right now, and once it is down to bare styrene I will try that new Revell chrome paint on it.

I have not seen that product. 3M also makes a Trizact pad that is similar to the Infini, but it seems to have a “grain” to it…almost like a file. It doesn’t last as long in my experience either.

I really like these Infini sanding pads. They also come in about 1”x6” flexible sticks. I recently discovered a way to sand tight inside curves by folding a small strip of the pad over and clamping it in a forceps. The closer to the bend you clamp it…the smaller the diameter. Virtually any small radius is possible to suit your needs. Greg.

From watching Forensic Files I know that CA fumes can adhere to and highlight fingerprints. I clean my glue looper by burning off the dried CA, and I think that may be what happened here. The MR Hobby Premium clear coat is well dried and most fingerprints just wipe off…but not this one. I also clean the un-used CA out of my little glue well with a Q-tip and that instantly makes lots of fumes for some reason. And I am careful not to breath the fumes when doing this.

Well I added the foil behind the seats and the doors that I missed. Then I got the interior in place and discovered that the glove box panel between the seats doesn’t sit flush like it should. So I carefully extricated the interior and carved down the section between the seats about 1mm and reassembled it.? I still have the windshield frame and glass to install, but not tonight.

If you buy a kit from Revell, AMT or whoever…someone designed the parts. If you 3D print the kit…someone designed the parts. It could be the builder or someone else. The designing of the parts definitely requires a skill set, but I wouldn’t call it scratch-building. Scratch building to me is taking a raw block of something and turning it into something else. It is just a different type of skill. JMO.

I fold mine up and stuff them on the self…just in case.?

They are decals. The ones on the fenders conformed beautifully over the molded in features.? I sanded the molded in letters off the front though because I figured there was no way I could get the decal to sit perfectly on top of them without destroying it…even if the letter spacing was identical.?

Wow! Some amazing slicing and dicing going on here!? The putty manufacturers won’t be getting rich off of you, that’s for sure. I am amazed at the intricate details that you task yourself with modifying to “correctness”, as it would be in the 1:1 world. Kudos to you Kit!?
