  1. Pretty is in the eye of the beholder.
  2. There is an ipms show anually I believe. I think it has already been held for this year. https://ipmswinnipeg.ca/
  3. Wow, this is looking great. Nice upgrades in the engine bay and that color looks fabulous on it.👍😎
  4. Thanks Michael.🙂 Yeah, my first attempt had too much of a wedge shape. I wanted a bit more of an elongated diamond shape. Thanks Chris. Thanks Daniel. Still a WIP. I believe I will fab up an injection system and try to update it somehow. Thanks Potaka. I am trying to get the body lines right and everything smoothed out before any painting. For the chop, I just kept cutting slivers off the C pillar until the roof and rear deck curves seemed to line up. I have a bunch of pics, but nothing that really shows anything extra. i will certainly post some more after the first round of putty.
  5. Years have gone by since I drove a three in the tree.
  6. Much has changed during our lifetimes and even bigger changes are on the horizon.
  7. I haven’t been at the bench much lately, but I am still plugging away at this once in a while. I got a floor pan partially scratched. Cut out the rear wheel openings and re-shaped the body lines a bit. Still lots more bodywork to be done.🥵
  8. I have put a tiny bit of CA on the tip of the belt to keep it from fraying. Then trim it a bit to enter the slot easier.

Stance is looking good Bruce.👍 I started this kit back in 2019, set it aside for 5 years, and just finished it this year. A couple of things to watch out for: The bumpers don’t have decent mounting points. I shortened the steering column because I thought it was way too far from the dash. Check the fit of the hood…I had to shim mine up so it would sit flush. Then either the radiator or the nose piece wouldn’t let it close completely.
  10. Sorry Dan, I did not take any pics of it. It was converted into a camper trailer though, and it was for sale. I asked my wife if we could sell the 5vr and truck, and just pull that with her Jeep. She didn’t think much of that idea. Edit: If I see it again I will get some pics….but the VW club was sponsored so it may not show up a a regular show.😕
  11. A few I haven’t seen before….LOVE that ‘36? Buick!😎
  12. Fabulous job on that “Effie” Chuck! I have been wanting to do a similar type of tow rig. Thanks for digging up that thread.😎
  13. More pics here: https://cars.bonhams.com/auction/23234/lot/43/1931-cadillac-v-16-series-452-town-brougham-chassis-no-703164-engine-no-7-3214/
  14. I just got these “leather” punches today. 1-25 mm in 1mm increments, then 5mm increments up to 55mm. They should be fine for masking tape and thin styrene sheet. I just recently hand painted some whitewalls because none of my existing punches were the right size. Sadly, the sizes are not marked on them.😕
  15. Absolutely. I save inspirational photos that I come across. Pinterest is a great source. Some custom stuff is even A.I. generated, but looks really cool. If the source won’t let me save the photos directly I will take a screen shot, then use “edit” to crop out all the unwanted parts.
  16. Nice work on the interior Dennis!😎
  17. Click on this and these options should pop up!
  18. I will never get back the hours (or days) of my life spent with my finger hovering over a little “x” waiting for the advertisement to time out.😕
  19. Nice work so far Jim.👍 Those door handles and window cranks are pretty decent looking as is. I would just paint them with Molotow after doing the door cards.
  20. Getting back to the question of the Ferrari heads…I think a little experimentation with paint consistency, air pressure and distance, one could achieve an acceptable degree of “not quite flat” texture.
  21. I like your clean methodical approach to all these modifications Paul.👍😎
  22. Since I am in a bit of a building slump right now…I did a quick test. The bottom piece of Evergreen is blasted with crushed glass which is way too aggressive, but it’s what is in my cabinet. The top one is sanded fairly smooth with 800 grit. The blasted one is sprayed with slightly thinned Tamiya LP-21 Italian Red. The smooth one is sprayed with un-thinned LP-21 from a distance of about 8-10”. I think even blasting with a finer grit could possibly damage or obliterate the raised lettering on the cover.
  23. Function is a mathematical term which, after a short bit of research, had me totally confused.
  24. Nice! I must say I had my doubts that you would be able to squeeze that engine in there….but there it is.😎
