  1. Three I have built are the Revell ‘65 Chevy stepside, The Revell ‘41 Chevy pickup (I didn’t highlight these, but they are there), and the MPC Godzilla Jeep. I’m sure most steelies have the indentations to represent them, but not actual openings.?
  2. Wow that topper looks REALLY great! Fantastic work.?
  3. Thanks Steve. One thing to watch with an engine swap in this kit is that the frame rails are very narrow which doesn’t leave a lot of room for exhaust. And you’ve got the t/c to get around.? The kit I stole the motor from only came with headers which won’t fit?…..so I have to steal the manifolds from the Monte Carlo. Luckily the headers will work on the Monte when I get around to it.? Edit: I am needing to raise the engine .100” in order to get clearance for the manifolds. There should still be plenty of clearance under the hood for a carb and air cleaner. I’ve also filed a lot of material off the bottom of the transmission tunnel to gain some extra clearances.
  4. Another nice one! I do like this colour and the yellow one you are doing best.?
  5. That’s one of my biggest issues…deciding what colours to use. Yours looks nice!?
  6. Wow, that is bright….but I like it!? It will look really great once the trim is done.?
  7. Some great fab work you’re doing on this one Jim. The stance looks real nice, and the headers you made turned out beautifully.
  8. I was going to use a small block casting that I have, but it looks too small in the engine bay. So I stole the 427 out of the Yenko Camaro kit, cut the 4 speed off, and added a resin TH400 and NP205 transfer case. This will be a nice beefy no nonsense powertrain upgrade for this nice old truck.? That’s all for now, thanks for looking! Oops, the pic above is with the 454 & TH400 from the ‘70 Monte Carlo….but I still want to build that one one day.
  9. Thanks!? Thanks. That is always a conundrum for me.? At the moment I’m thinking yellow or bronze with a black top….but that may change a few times yet.? Thanks. I couldn’t get the spoon trick to work because the spoons I have would hit the interior tub, so I just used a flat piece set in behind the kit firewall.
  10. Wow Gareth, I sure admire your perseverance….and your fabrication skills! Excellent work on this one.?
  11. Looking fine John.?These are very nice kits.
  12. I found a picture of this while researching stuff. I think it is really cool!? https://www.hemmings.com/stories/2016/04/25/hemmings-find-of-the-day-1950-buick-roadmaster-wrecker
  13. Nicely done, and great photography!?
  14. Very nice pair!?
  15. Very nicely done Andy!?
  16. Wow, you did some fantastic work on this. It looks beautiful!?
  17. That topper is coming along real nicely!?
  18. That weathering looks really good to me Bob! And some nice mods you’re doing to it. It reminds me of when I was a kid watching the local garages old ‘50-something Merc tow truck pulling out a semi that had gotten wedged up against a hydro pole.? It had a slightly extended front bumper with an old tractor tire carcass bolted on for pushing duty. Behind the bumper were a few large rocks to help keep the front end down when pulling.? If I recall the front wheels were off the ground before he got it moving.?
  19. This is my current favourite! The only thing I’ve added is the intermittent wiper stalk from an RX. It is so much fun to drive!?
  20. That would be nice! more the merrier! ?
  21. I believe I have settled on this for the final stance. These are the six lug wheels and tires from the Revell Jeep Rubicon (which should have been 5 lug?). The Dana 44 front diff was available in the early Blazers, and the Corporate 14 bolt rear is a popular upgrade from the GM 12 bolt rear in the 1:1 world. It was available as a 8 lug full floating diff in 1 tons in either single or dually versions. It was also available as a six lug semi-floating rear on 3/4 ton trucks and Suburbans. Edit: The semi-floating 14-bolt rear is a completely different unit from the full-floater and not nearly as bullet proof. It is still a big up-grade from the 12-bolt units though. These tires will require no lift and I can easily swap out the puny diffs for ones that I have cast. My resin pieces are pretty close to proper 1/25 scale. The rear one sits a little cock-eyed in the spring perches so I will have to tweek the mount slightly.
  22. I finally picked up some cheap aluminum hair clips like mattg suggested. I think they may be my new favourite clamps. The tips can be filed, shaped or bent to suit odd situations.
  23. Ok, this one’s back on the bench. I’m not going to get too carried away correcting body tub issues. I will however upgrade the entire drivetrain. More to follow after I dig through my parts.?
  24. OK! You guys talked me into it. I was working on a Jeep so I am already in 4wd.?
