Sounds about right!! My hobby room was just that, now it is a 1/4 of my basement.
2 things I cannot pass on are good deals and new releases. When I'm on a building hiatus my buying does slow but deals and something I've always liked/wanted is released so I buy them.
Been working on this the last week. Using PPP tires and wheels. Not patterned after any car just a fun project for a shelf model. Thinned the body from the inside and the used a lighter to bend/dent the panels and then foiled the outside panels.
AMT 56 Ford.
I've thought about it but never do it. While my office is locked when I'm not there the thought of them getting broke would really tick me off. housekeeping ect.
Not silly, that's the fun thing about model building is its expression it allows you. This forum inspires me, to think outside the box. Until I seen your thread my model was sitting on the shelf and now I'm forming a plan to move forward with it.
I also have a 62 johan dart that was a glue bomb buy, might need to look that over. just the right amount of early 60's fugly mopar badness!! I love those old mopars. .
I have one in the stash, will use it someday with a different body is the plan. an odd ball early 60's Johan rambler is my plan. just need said rambler..........
Another thing I think fueled the gray chassis was all the teams that came along, gray was a more neutral color and I did see this on a nascar show back in the 90's when the teams would do their post race tear down and when checking the parts stress cracks in the metal were easier to spot with the light gray paint. After steam/pressure cleaning stress cracks would show rust.
