  1. Terrific stuff! It looks like it's going 200mph standing still! Top build. I really like it.
  2. Looks good your paint looks like it went down well. I got one of those Molotow pens. They're great, aren't they?
  3. Thanks chaps. I'm glad you like it It was a good test bed, for my airbrush skills. I thought this kit was very nice. The body looks spot on, to my eye. I might get another one and open the doors and trunk (but I have so many other projects to do, first!)
  4. After a total cock up with the paint (I'm new to airbrushing..), which resulted in wet sanding back to primer, I figured out by how much I needed to thin decanted spray paint. I'm reasonably happy with it, except there was a warp in the chassis that only reared its ugly head during final assembly. Therefore, the bug catcher fouls the side of the hood opening. Oh well. Another lesson learned. I added a throttle arm, spring and some fuel lines, to give the engine a bit of detail. I used AK interactive true metal paint on some parts. It's very good.
  5. Man, that's looking fresh as a daisy! 44 years old?!? Wow! How many more do you have, from back then?
  6. A very cool project. I admire you guys who do so much research into your builds. It's fascinating to see builds like this.
  7. Superb work! The paint is terrific. Very tidy build and decal work.
  8. Fantastic! You did a great job on it. The details bring it alive.
  9. Looks like a top dollar ride! Dare I say 'pimped'? nice work. I haven't seen many of these built.
  10. Gleaming! I didn't have the nerve to use the kit decals, when I built mine. You did a great job with yours. These are really nice kits and you did it justice.
  11. That's a great idea! I'll give it a go. It's weird, isn't it...how some paint looks better to the eye than to a camera? Under more diffused light, the paint doesn't look that coarse. Thanks for the comments everyone. Like I said, these tuners aren't terribly popular on this forum, but they are very nice to build. I'm changing tack and doing a 41 willys next. The KS Pittman car. It's nice to mix it up and not do the same type of thing too often.
  12. Here's the Aoshima Mitsubishi Evo X, I've been working on for about a month. This is my first airbrush paint job and I wish I'd taken the plunge, sooner. It was a lot easier than I thought it would be. Box stock, except for the seatbelt clasps and roof decal. I know most of you prefer American iron, but it was a good kit to build my airbrush skills. Anyway, I hope you like it all the same. All comments welcome. Thanks for looking.
  13. A very classy build. Superb work and finish.
  14. Hi Len Tamiya X-24 is clear yellow. Paint the inside of the glass, so it stays shiny and smooth on the outside ?
  15. Almost done. The spoiler was going to have a carbon fibre finish, but the decal wrinkled and looks cak. I had this problem before, with the same sheet. Setting solution seems to make it worse. Anyway, the bulk of it's done. I need to tweak the gap on the leading edge of the hood, though. thanks for looking
  16. You should get a job building kits for the Tamiya catalogue! This is the sort of level I aspire to. Really well done. Looks amazing!
  17. Wow, Jim! That paint looks WET! A stunning build of a handsome car.
  18. Superb! Exactly as I would spec it from the factory. Super clean, by the looks of it. The diorama with the cutaways on the wall, is a nice touch. I hope that dog doesn't cock his leg, on one of the tyres!
  19. This is going to be a top-notch build, especially with all the detail goodies! I'll be watching your progress with great interest
  20. Lovely. Tamiya kits are really nice to build and you're doing this one justice.
  21. I saw a Chapparal at Goodwood festival of speed. Amazing cars. They were very futuristic. And they sound awesome! Keep us up to date with your progress ?
  22. Yeah, good wheel choice. Nice to see an old kit getting a rebirth. I'll be checking out the progress on this.
  23. Excellent use of the jewellery parts! The earring butterflies, as hinges, for example. Truly inspired! A very enjoyable build. Not just for you, but us, too!
  24. Styrene dust, filler, saws and files. That's real model making! I dig it, man! looking forward to seeing this one finished
