  1. As you build the space you need will never seem big enough, I got back to building about 2 years ago and set this work area up then in my basement I continue to rearrange stuff to improve it, this half of my basement is storage other than my work area. Behind where I sit is my stash and paint booth..
  2. Ok that tells me where to find a wheel I may want also, Thanks... I'm not a fan of the center bolt wheels I think it takes some of the pit stop change out of it...
  3. Thanks, I've noticed a lot of pics of the older cars with newer style wheels but it appears they are restored cars. I'll rely on pics of the actual raced cars then they should be as accurate as I can get then... I recently started a build of the Salvinos 83 Lemans and noticed the car on the box (real car) has 5 hole wheels on it but the kit comes with 9 hole, I'm also building Davey Allison's rookie car 87 T-Bird and that kit came with 5 hole wheels but every pic of the car I find has 9 hole wheels so I'll just swap the wheels on the 2 kits... Thanks again...
  4. I've been looking for info without to much luck on when wheels changed in NASCAR. They started with stock steelies then went to a 5 hole wheel and I believe to a 9 hole wheel then finally to a 8 hole wheel. Does anyone know a time frame of when these changes took place? I'm working of several 80's era cars and want to have the correct wheels for them.
  5. That was what everyone I knew called them when I was young was a "poor man's corvette"
  6. The wife always makes me save all my Ollies scores for Christmas LOL.... I picked several out at HL also when the %40 kit sales first started which included Smokey and the Bandit T/A, 70 Firebird, 76 Chevy stepside, 68 Chevelle, 69 Yenko Nova, a 69 and 70 Chargers, the LNT8000 Snow Plow and a couple others. I also got 3 Salvinos JR Kits, From family I got a total of $75 in gift cards for HL, $50 for Ebay and $100 for Amazon..... I had a good year
  7. I've always been a fan of American Cars with me leaning to the muscle cars including some they sold in other country's and not in the states. I am not a fan of Ferrari's or BMW's although I have always had a fondness for the original VW Beetle and have owned a few in my time. I think the one car I've always liked and is really not in my usual taste range is The Subaru WRX, I don't think I have seen one I didn't like or would gladly park in my driveway
  8. I have it recorded but haven’t watched it yet, I’ve always been a fan and loved the Blues Brothers but I have also always like him in 1941
  9. ok interesting then there must have been a one of the others at one time or another I guess...
  10. I have one of the Round2 releases of this kit and I'm setting up to start on it but I noticed that it has Impala emblems on the fender and on the side of the roof. From what I can find in pictures it looks like the roof emblems were on cars with a vinyl top and fender emblems on non vinyl top cars and convertibles. Do anyone know if this is correct?
  11. In the 73 body style I'm pretty sure that was an MPC kit and they made it in 1/25th and 1/16th scale. I think the Johan kits were the 64 Belvedere, 65 Fury and the 70 Superbird. I could be wrong but that's what I recall...
  12. LOL it’s all good cracked me up when I saw it, yeah a little sunshine look nicer... lol
  13. Got it thanks.... and why are you giving me a cactus finger LMAO....
  14. I don't have anywhere local to me carrying it, closest place is little over an hour away. Does anyone know if they will be available to order here by chance?
  15. I will do that thanks, and for the info on the Olds chassis Thanks for the info, I’ve been wanting to pick up a Cutlass I’ll have to buy 2
  16. Very interesting, I’ll have to look though when I’m home on the PC. Thanks for sharing what you have collected
  17. Which is better I think depends on the project at hand some are better one way some the other. If you use canopy glue or other white glue it takes most of the panic out of installing glass...
  18. Thanks guys, sounds like I will be wanting to skip the clear. I can see where that would possibly change the effect
  19. I have a can of Testors color shift and realize I want to clear coat it but have no idea what type of paint it is. My guess would be a lacquer but I noticed it doesn't say it anywhere on the can and I didn't see it on the product page although I'm sure I could have missed it. So I figured if anyone would know it would be you all...
  20. Very nice!!! I just ordered that kit, I’m looking forward to building it.
  21. I'll have to do a search, I have a little trouble with the search feature here but I'll give it a shot later today when I have some time to look though what comes up....
  22. I think I’m going to go pro street I kind of want the wheelie bars... I’ll have to start looking for one of those... Thanks Casey Good info, it would make sense too the revell I’m sure is 1/24th would make up that difference. Thanks Steve
  23. I have a build up AMT 69 Chevelle from my youth that I want to rehab and customize, what I want to do is tub it. So I was looking for some recommendations for what chassis to use? This is the kit I have...
  24. I wonder if we sent a link to this thread to Round 2 they would get the hints LOL....
  25. I've always been a fan of the Cougars, I've always wanted a 69 and owned a 73 in my youth... I had one of the kit years ago and I'm sure I'll trip across one some day...
