I have one of the Round2 releases of this kit and I'm setting up to start on it but I noticed that it has Impala emblems on the fender and on the side of the roof. From what I can find in pictures it looks like the roof emblems were on cars with a vinyl top and fender emblems on non vinyl top cars and convertibles. Do anyone know if this is correct?

In the 73 body style I'm pretty sure that was an MPC kit and they made it in 1/25th and 1/16th scale. I think the Johan kits were the 64 Belvedere, 65 Fury and the 70 Superbird. I could be wrong but that's what I recall...

A question of curiosity (gluing windows)
SCRWDRVR replied to Venom's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Which is better I think depends on the project at hand some are better one way some the other. If you use canopy glue or other white glue it takes most of the panic out of installing glass... -
Testors color shift paint type
SCRWDRVR replied to SCRWDRVR's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Thanks guys, sounds like I will be wanting to skip the clear. I can see where that would possibly change the effect -
I have a can of Testors color shift and realize I want to clear coat it but have no idea what type of paint it is. My guess would be a lacquer but I noticed it doesn't say it anywhere on the can and I didn't see it on the product page although I'm sure I could have missed it. So I figured if anyone would know it would be you all...

I think I’m going to go pro street I kind of want the wheelie bars... I’ll have to start looking for one of those... Thanks Casey Good info, it would make sense too the revell I’m sure is 1/24th would make up that difference. Thanks Steve -
I have a build up AMT 69 Chevelle from my youth that I want to rehab and customize, what I want to do is tub it. So I was looking for some recommendations for what chassis to use? This is the kit I have...

Doesn't confuse at all in fact it clarifies. Now that I know for sure in the states you could have gotten a 67 4 door with rallies on it stock it opens up the possibilities....

I only use them if I think it will be moved around a lot, but generally I don't and I stack them 7 high.

Very nice build, I love the dog dish hub caps, what did they come from?

Black cars cleared with Pledge Future Shine
SCRWDRVR replied to Venom's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
It’s definitely a very specialized finish and what I mean by that is I’ve only used it as a clear for bodies 3 times. Once on the car above that is molded in color and I like the color, the other 2 times were on cars I painted a long time ago and wasn’t happy with the shine and couldn’t remember what type of paint I used and I knew the future wouldn’t react. -
I think I like it myself We’ll see if anyone else chimes in so it might be worth his while to do
