  1. Welp, after fifty plus years of neglect and four plus months of the restoration process, this old '69 Impala finally gets to see the light of day again! It's a kitbash of an original promo with a busted windshield frame, Monogram '65 Impala and an AMT '67 Impala. The windshield frame, windshield, rear view mirror, visors, door handles and top are from a Monogram '65 Impala. The chassis, floorpan, drivetrain and underhood detail are from the 67. Paint is Tamiya TS-11 Maroon and Tamiya TS-33 Dull Red. Thanx for checking it out! Here's a couple of photos of what I started with.
  2. I finally have this thing looking like a '69 Impala again! Just have a few minor bits and pieces to add. Door handles, locks, mirror, visors, antenna etc. I have a minor fit issue with the front bumper and hood that needs to be fixed. Hopefully, I can finish it up today! Thanx to everyone who followed along, commented and offered advice on this project! Much appreciated!
  3. That is SHARP !! I love the colors on it! What did you shoot the Metallic Green over? Nice work Ray!
  4. Super nice looking GTO's! Hard to pick a favorite! Nice work!
  5. What other parts are molded in black?
  6. That's odd. The original versions had the rear side glass areas already filled in. Does this version come with the fenders molded in black?
  7. I built one of these a loooong time ago Bob. Too long to remember any issues with it. I scored another "Truckin' On Down" version a couple of years ago. But, never have done anything with it. I'll be watching this to see how it goes.
  8. I doubt anyone wants to know who left a reaction that bad. Turning this forum into a pay site will be a good way to kill it off quick.
  9. Very nice looking Monte Carlo Dominik! The interior color looks perfect! What did you use?
  10. And someone thinks almost every post is funny. ? I'm just glad I found out how to turn the reaction notifications off. ?
  11. I wouldn't use the Revell Snap kit. The quarter panels on that kit are horrible. The rear wheel openings are too high which cause too much arch in the reveal. Plus, the reveal doesn’t fade out in front of the door handles like it should. Lousy photo. But, it's the only one I could find at this angle. The real deal. Here's a set of the MRC Good Years that just happen to be on a Monogram '70 Chevelle. The lettering has the size of L60-15 on them. Don't know if that's a stock size or not. But, they look close enough to me.
  12. That's a really nice looking little Mustang! The color combo is perfect for it! Nice work!
  13. The AMT tires are. But, there are two different sizes IIRC. The bigger size should be fine for a 1/24 Chevelle. The MPC tires are 1/24. But, they're getting pretty scarce and expensive.
  14. What about the GY Polyglas tires in the AMT Parts Pack? There was also a nice set in one of the MPC wheel and tire sets. I can't remember if it was the Cragars or the Keystones.
  15. Yeah, that's what I was looking for.
  16. Nice looking little S-10 Dominik! Back in the day, those little trucks were everywhere!
  17. If I'm not mistaken, the Monogram '69 Z/28 Camaro also had a Dana rearend under it. The upcoming reissue supposedly has parts to build either version. I wonder if it will have both rearends? Did the Street Rat have the same induction on the engine?
  18. The three I built that were molded in black all had the Dana rearend under them. Is it possible that the twelve bolt cover is from the Street Rat version? If it's orange under the chrome, it's from that kit.
  19. Nice looking little hot rod Steve! Those wheels suit it really well!
  20. This is one of my favorite kits from back in the day! So, I'll be tuned in! I'll definitely be snagging a reissue when they're available. One suggestion. Get rid of the runners on the glass. It'll make your headliner much neater looking.
  21. I use a tablet. So, no mouse.
  22. One thing that annoys me is when someone reacts to a post of mine, is it doesn't show what kind of reaction was left. What's the point in that? But, I can see the type of reactions others have left in everyone else's posts. It's like everyone else knows the reaction your post got except for you. The reactions are completely anonymous to the person getting the reaction. Again, what's the point?
  23. Thanx for posting that Carl! That was a good one to watch.
  24. That clearly doesn't work. Just look at the paint stripper topic. Twenty five pages and people still ask the question. But, you can't blame someone for not wanting to wade through all of that.
  25. This is the first '37 sedan I've seen that I actually like! The colors, wheels and stance are all dead on! Then there's the chassis and drivetrain to put it further over the top! Nice work!
