  1. Thanks David, I do have to do a little housekeeping. I have already trimmed the interior side panels to compensate for the intrusion of the wheelwells.
  2. Thanks, Nigel. It was kind of a transparent type color. I did not do mist coats but went full coverage from the 1st spray. Doing so allowed the color to move away from all the ridges. Now that I have an airbrush I can do better. I know if I left it the way it was, it would always bother me. I picked the Mustangs simply because my display cabinet is well stocked with GM and Mopar at present.
  3. Thanks Sam, I a thinking a lighter color like white or silver or yellow. I want to decal it like a period late 60's drag racer. I have to see what I have in my decal stash.
  4. Welcome to the forum. I would not be surprised if I have bought from you before. Your stash certainly holds a lot of "holy grail" kits for some of us.
  5. Testors Extreme Lacquer for great color and shine without polishing. Hardware store paints are a better bargain (price per ounce) but some do not play nice with plastic. Duplicolor from any auto parts store works pretty well and you get enough for at least 2 models. Sometimes colors are limited. Their primer is recommended as well.
  6. Took the stock chassis and performed a 'minitub' job on it today. Did not want nor need to go full Prostreet on it. I removed as much material as I could to move the leaf spring and rails inboard with out having to hack up the gas tank. I made the cuts so I could still install all the stock parts. (My parts box is pretty thin). I scrounged up some NASCAR slicks because they are just the right size and sanded the tread.
  7. What a cute truck. I like the stripes.
  8. You could put links to all these right here on this posting.
  9. It is pretty cool to have. Someday I might get to take it to a model show.
  10. Way cool gasser!
  11. Thanks guys. I still have some minor things left to do.
  12. Wait no more! Go ahead and jump in!
  13. Just finished the chassis for my 1967 Mustang GT. Plans for it have changed to the chassis will go into this Shelby.
  14. Well, change of plan, found a 427 SOHC motor in my 68 Shelby kit. I want to go with that. The chassis I just finished with the 289 Hi-Po will now be used in my 1967 Shelby GT-350. I finally decided I am not liking the mediocre dark green paint job so it is going in the purple lake for a lighter color change.
  15. Very nice. I wouldn't mind have one of these.
  16. That is SO Very nice. I would be proud to put that in my display cabinet.
  17. Thank you gentlemen for the advice. I can see where I could grow into more tooling to make a larger variety of parts. It is just right now I do not have the budget or the space to get a larger and/or nicer one. An alternate short term option would be to find someone who has a lathe to make a custom set of hoops from time to time. But I don't know how I would go about that. Is there a machinist community like there is for 3D printing like Makerbot?
  18. Thank you Brian.
  19. Thank you all for the compliments.
  20. Well something went sideways. My order was cancelled as of today.
  21. Very nice result.
  22. Way cool! Good choice on the white wing.
  23. I missed one final task before posting. Here it is with the real metal exhaust tips installed.
