  1. I built this last year.
  2. Nice to see something built that is unique.
  3. I built (2) '72 Chevelles last year. I am interested how yours turns out.
  4. You are making some great progress. I have the 1966 El Camino, the wagon, Lindberg's Chevelle and a resin sedan delivery. You are beginning to motivate me.
  5. Brad, Stay tuned and I'll let you know how it works.
  6. Finally started on the backdrop. Changed the floor from checkerboard index card stock over foamboard to clear plastic over checkerboard over sheet metal over cardboard (for filler). Why hidden sheet metal? I noticed many of my shop items are very light and easy to knock over. I figured if I glue mini magnets to the bottom of them, they would stay in place thanks to the floor. Sure, I could glue the items down but I want to have the freedom to rearrange the pieces without a bunch of stuff falling over or moving around when jostled. Presently I am decorating the back wall with aluminum backed road signs and license plates.

    Duster

Nice work on the engine and grille.
  8. It will be nice to get one of these. My parents had a '71 V12 when I was in high school around '77. My step sister and I took it out for a joyride one afternoon while they were out of town on their motorcycle. The handling on Michelin radials was awesome. Got it over 120 mph AND came home in one piece. My brother tried to steal it one night when he ran away from home. We found it at the bottom of our street with a dead battery. He didn't know about the manual choke and couldn't get it to start in the dead of winter. He stole my Dad's brand new T-bird the next night. But that is a whole 'nother story.
  9. Gorgeous Pontiac you have there.
  10. I bought a sheet of 1/24 reflective traffic signs printed on an aluminum sheet. I cut out the ones I wanted for the walls. It came with some generic street signs but I think I will make my own to include Woodward Avenue and Mulholland Drive.
  11. Finished up the shop equipment. Added decals and scratch built stand for the lathe.
  12. Have any of you watched any of the Australian Super car races? They aren't afraid to beat and bang if they need to. The smaller tire size makes it so that they are on the edge of grip all the time but, in the event they go a bit off line, they can whip up some dust wrestle it back on track and keep going. They also use the whole side of the car for their sponser's logo. NOT the car number. I also get kind of a kick out of the announcer's vocabulary from "down under". The only down side is the pit stops are really boring because the fuel fill takes so long the 4 tire changers could be grandmas
  13. I met someone at a local model show that used wet look clear and it looked so good I went out and bought 6 cans at the first opportunity. I used it on my last two car builds. I loved it.
  14. You NAILED the stance! Nice wheels too.
  15. Welcome Bill! Excuse me while I drool over your cool Merc.
  16. Guido, Tips for your build. Sand the cab halves mating surfaces on a large piece of sandpaper (taped to a very flat surface). That way, their joining will not have any gaps. 2nd, remove the large ceiling portion of the windows so that the parts that will show, will be flexible enough to meet up with the window frames. 3rd, trim down the perimeter of the assembled interior prior to stuffing it in the cab body. It is too tight and will try to split your nicely painted cab in two.
  17. Guido, Yes there is. Thanks for the interest.
  18. Interesting subject. Following.
  19. Very nice indeed. Good photography as well.
  20. Saw the original movie in the theater (probably like many of you). Always liked gold on black.
  21. Thank you for sharing some model history with us.
  22. Thank you David, be my guest.
  23. Thank you David. I bought them off ebay as a printed page ready to cut out. I used regular index card stock to get the thickness close.
