  1. Kudos. Nice build.
  2. I concur. Look for a dark grey primer. Or medium grey with a drop or so of black added.
  3. Make some curb stops from some wooden coffee stirrers painted yellow (or gray) One for each car.
  4. Nice work. Love the result.
  5. Way cool. Thanks for the info on the lighting. I have a semi project that will be lit with up to 60 LEDs. I am hoping eight "C" cells will do the trick.
  6. I am usually a header guy. I am sure I have manifolds and some carbs in my engine parts box. PM me for a pics request.
  7. Cassette tapes, nice touch. ?
  8. Steve, you deserve it. Your finishes and detail, along with the research you do, speak for themselves. Well earned.
  9. Great start. Following.
  10. Love this build. I use those Goodyear Blue Streak tires under anything that can fit them.
  11. Between the age of 20 to 30. I had been pulled over THIRTEEN times. I was let go with a warning EVERY SINGLE TIME. After that time period though , not so much.
  12. It can be. Though the protruding headlights look a bit off. I made a vintage kit into a Heavy Chevy with a 454.
  13. Thanks for sharing Steve. Nice to see another survivor Grand Prix. I just started the resurrection of my spare 455 for my 72 SJ.
  14. Thank you, Claude. ? Thank you, David. There sure were some well done models there. Thank you, Jeff. ?
  15. Good to know. I have 11 cans of the Wet Look Clear Extreme Lacquer.
  16. I just had attended a show Saturday. Factory stock was the most crowded table.
  17. I bought 3 kits at good prices, I also won 9 more kits from $40 worth of raffle kits including two MCW resin kits. I also got two awards for my 74 Hurst/Olds.
  18. I attended the SABA show in Portland, OR yesterday. I brought 6 recent builds, took some pics, acquired a dozen more models. I surprisingly I won two awards. "Ruby" my 66 Bonne got selected for potential inclusion in a future print mag. The pic count will exceed the max number allowed per post so it will take a few posts.
  19. I agree that the loss of detail warrants a do over. I would suggest a fine white primer to bring the brightness back to your yellow. What is the solvent base of your Wicked colors? Water, alcohol, lacquer or none of the above? I use lacquers and enamels. I mist coat it then let it flash off 5-10 minutes to let it bite. Then I simply keep spraying always concentrating on the hard to cover areas until I have a full coverage gloss coat. Then I park it for at least 2 weeks. Hopefully I do not have any dust bumps to deal with. After BMF, decals, and all details except windows. I lather on the Future to seal everything to the body. I do not have the patience for polishing and solvent based clear coats have ruined my results from time to time. Good luck on whatever you choose.
  20. I pulled the cable about 2 years ago. I lost being able to watch all my racing and car shows. Got a free TV channel box to pick up all the dozen or so local free on air stuff. Quit watching that after few months in in spite of having TiVo. After the TV not getting turned on even once over the last 5-6 months, I just unplugged everything to quit wasting electricity. Between a full time job, my wife's ever expanding garden, my 1:1 hobby car and occasional kit bashing, I have moved on to Youtube and all its vices.
