My Dad, Stepmom and me drove down to Texas in our 71 XKE to pick him and the car. My stepmom and me were flying North in the Jag and my Dad and brother were trying to keep up in the T-bird. My Dad got a speeding ticket and was MAD!

I agree, the wear/weathering is quite impressive and realistic.

Assuming they still produce them, If you buy the really large variety pack of Ultra Fine Point Sharpies, they have one called Marigold which is right on amber in and of itself. -

My Dad and Stepmom had a new Lipstick Red 77 with the 400 in it. My younger brother stole it and drove from Nebraska to Texas before getting caught by two crooked cops that said that they would let him go if he gave them the keys to the car.

Sharpie in recessed areas would not be subject to rubbing off. I usually clear coat mine with the whole body so I cannot speak to the longevity. -
That turned out nice. Did you sand the vinyl top off?

Firewall Wiring Painting?
Bills72sj replied to Chevy II's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Except for Mopars, most of my engine compartments are semi gloss black. Like you, I like to bring out the harness detail when it is present. My weapon of choice is a Sharpie brand ultra fine point marker. The black marker on the already black painted firewall gives enough contrast to show it was touched. -

Thank all of you for sharing the info on all the variations. Interesting read. I built the 1973 issue back in my teen years. I only have to 2011 reissue presently in my stash. -
Very nicely detail all around. You have really nailed. All the aftermarket performance parts really bring it to another level.
