  1. Nice green. I have a soft spot for one of these as I helped my buddy in HS buy a built SS 396 (402) in Cranberry red with black stripes and a 4-speed. D*mn fast car too.
  2. 1971 Ford Country Squire wagon. White (+rust) with fake wood grain. Bought it for $50. Drove out of their apartment complex. At the very first stop sign the brake pedal hit the firewall with no warning. Stabbed the e-brake pedal in a panic. Heard a loud "sproing" under the car. Still rolling 30 mph. Threw it in Park. Listened to the parking latch pawl chatter until it finally caught and oscillated forward and backward once it stopped. My brother and I drove it intermittantly that Summer with no brakes at all. We would just swerve back and forth to scrub speed and roll through stop signs. It had a tranny leak as well. We would take $5, go to the truck stop nearby, put a quart of fluid in it and the rest is the gas tank. (Gas was 75 cents a gallon). We go beat the HELL out of it until it overheated then limp it home. One night my brother purposely ran over 2 miles of the orange and white sandwich boards with the blinking yellow lights, just for fun. Another afternoon we took it out to a hilly field with a bunch of dirt bike trails. We had blast chasing dirt bikers with this big 'ol station wagon. Then there is the story about a parking lot full of Corvettes...
  3. That may just do the trick. I think I might have one of those kits I would not mind doing a swap to.
  4. I check and saw a lot of cool detail kits but no 4 spoke steering wheels.
  5. Bit by bit I have been plugging away at the interior. I have it ready to stuff in the cab and attach the sleeper. Too bad all that work will never be seen again.
  6. I have both of those but would like to keep them with their kits. However, I am seeking one for my 74 H/O Pace Car project. Any other Olds kits or other GM brands make a similar 4 spoke?
  7. Creating such a list would be a challenge. There is such a wide variety of opinions that eventually conflict may arise. The best way is to look at someone's results. If they are creating the results you wish to obtain, read or ask what they used. I would suggest that you search this part of the forum as a start. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/forum/4-tips-tricks-and-tutorials/
  8. Does anyone know what kits that have a 4 spoke style steering wheel like this?
  9. I had a cousin who owned the 74 GTO version of this.
  10. My buddy got one of those car warranty calls, He strung them along as long as he could trying get a warranty for a 1972 Chevelle, a 1975 Corvette and a 1979 1 ton Dually. They finally hung up on him.
  11. Very nice Chevelle. My 1st car was a 68 Malibu. Nice work on that vinyl top BTW.
  12. Gorgeous color and I agree it is one of the best detailed and fitting kits out there.
  13. My wife made me go out last night and fill up both of our cars. Hers was still a little over half full and was $46. Mine was at about 1/3 full and it to $83.50. When I drive by the station this afternoon it was $0.10 higher at $4.59 a gallon. Good thing she is a stay at home (grand)babysitter and I drive a company rig. My car only get about 10-12 mpg. As far as models go, I already have too many and have plenty of budget saved up for more when I find what I like.
  14. Very nice result. The artistic design looks very "busy" but compared to all the "jelly bean" cars sold today but, it looks way over the top cool.
  15. Yours turned out very nice. Would you consider the color a close match to Orbit Orange as used on 70 GTOs?
  16. I have not built any of my Novas yet. Following.
  17. My experience has been different over that several days. When I start reading a thread from page 1 and go to subsequent pages, it randomly drops me at various points in the scroll instead of always at the top.
  18. I got some on my 70 Grand Prix build to replicate a 1:1 Grand Prix I once owned. I even had a set of the rare gold version on my very 1st Grand Prix.
  19. I rarely put mirrors on my models. I will look to see if I have any of the Riv's shape.
  20. I love how you have made this. The color the details everything. Very nice!
  21. Question, were the all one piece chrome RS grille/headlights kits from MPC? I have built these 3 years ago and cannot remember.
