That is kind of hilarious....

Steve confused me

That's because it practically is the same song... with the same ol grunts and groans with a little guttural outburst here and there accompanied by some sorta poppy background noise..... Not to mention any coherent lyrics are strategically designed to pander to New Jersey blue collar workers... it is a brilliant marketing strategy... even with a low New Jersey union employment rate of 500,000 workers you can bank on at least half of those buying a Sprinsteen album at a generous wholesale price of say $10 that is 2.5 million dollars for just 1 album and just 1 regional demographic. Not including live shows. The Boss figured out a good way to never be one of those workers he panders to. Tempo is the only differentiator. Bpm up Bpm down... same ol song and dance.... Can't stand him, but he had a brilliant idea lol!

Yea that or the sheer reprehensible attitude of the guy in general... I have never liked him or his music lol

What other stuff do you paint?
LL3 Model Worx replied to LL3 Model Worx's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
If you are referring to that spider creature thing, that was a total pita to paint... it was TINY. I have excellent eyesight and I still had to use a heavy duty magnifier. That one set him back 2 model kits for that paint job... never again. -

2020 Cannonball Run Build Thread!
LL3 Model Worx replied to disconovaman's topic in Community Builds
Why has no one chosen KITT... would clearly and cleanly WIN any cannonball run without question at ridiculous "super pursuit mode" speeds.... heck you could even nap the whole way!! Or post to modelcarsmag forum even!! And a whole host of other activities one could get into in a non driving situation during a 3k mile trip. For a Win.... KITT. For style... I'll still take the Daytona. -
I thought the same thing at first... but then I started thinking, in a ride like that you may want all the room in the backseat as possible lol!! Very cool model and that color is sweet.

That's a cool model for sure! Too bad the clear didn't work out... I hate it when something wonky like that happens.... it happens/has happened to all of us I'm sure. I sprayed a guitar once and it was still "curing" two years later! And it is still fairly soft 6yrs down the line. But none the less you have executed a really cool concept! Really dig the paint scheme!

Past Projects in 1:1 scale
LL3 Model Worx replied to restoman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Been a stalled project for about 7 years... but getting married, buying a house, having a bunch of pets and a perpetual 60hr work week will cause that. I got up to the first coat of primer and then life happened... 7yrs ago. This is a 80 Z28. was originally a 350/auto car from Van Nuys plant... I put an 8 point cage in, aluminum door panels, aluminum guage panel with Autometers in the same configuration as the U14. B&M Console Mega shifter. I built a 421 small block for it, with AFR 220cc heads. Custom grind Howards hydraulic roller cam, with 242/248 duration, .588/594 lift and a 110° LSA. 12:1 coated flat tops from Keith Black. With a Holley 950 the engine made 587hp and 608 lb.ft.... at very conservative advance and jetting. I'd say its capable of over 600hp reliably and even more on small snort of nitrous... One day I'll get the 4 link and mini tub in. Right now it's just got a 355. Just sold off a 53 plymouth... And also have a 78 malibu that is in the middle of a heart transplant. -
Yea this one is in fact a 65, I never claimed it was a 67 lol just that it was a convertible... I was the one with the horrible 67 kits as a kid. Strangely enough I kinda wanna pick one up now to try again... glutton for punishment I guess. Btw did you get my Email? I kinda think i sent it to the wrong address.

Gauging interest - 50 Years of Mach 1 CBP
LL3 Model Worx replied to Hotrod 97's topic in Community Builds
When I was younger I used to use a miniature "detail" HVLP spray gun that we used for spot jobs and bumpers and what not on 1:1.... they work great for larger models (we did RC). I think mine has a 4oz capacity cup, and that's more than enough for a 1/12 car. I've also done 2 regular 1/25 models with a full size HVLP using base/clear turned out pretty great results... still my best paintjob on a model car and that was years ago. The model itself looks like it was built by a kid (it was) but the paint looks professional.... -

I could believe the boombox story... not for the actual film score ( inserted in post I'm sure) but to give Adam Sandler "mood music" to act, I could totally see/understand that... As far as the lumpy cam sound, I think it may have been edited in as well, as I don't know anyone (I actually do know 1) who would waste the time/energy or money to swap cams in a boat anchor 403... the 400 yea sure, but not the 403, wich I have reasons to believe this car came (under)equipped with. -
Yea on second glance you are right... maybe not the way to phrase it hahaha. Here's the one my dad built as a kid... he was probably 8 or 9 I only have a few of the models he built left... I think 3 "complete" and 1 partially complete. The survivors have had a very very hard life... I've named this one "The Creamsicle" lol

I abused myself with that GTO kit quite a few times when I was a kid... never did get one finished that I recall. I have a "built up" convertible gto my dad built as a kid... not sure of the manufacturer as I haven't looked at it closely in years but I recall it has an old promo style chassis pan with molded in exhaust and diff and steel axles for both front and rear. My vote for wke I had as a kid and do not remember what it was.... all I can remember was it had a multi piece firewall that collapsed on me so I sent the thing into the wall at warp speed. Kinda wish I remembered so I could try again now with better skills and most importantly PATIENCE!

Biggest pet peeves on builds.

I have victimized myself like that with glue far too many times... paint not so much, as my nose works just good enough to smell it. -

I'm in. Man that kit is a rough one... I picked it up at Ollie's recently also. Hope yours was better than mine... I had some SERIOUS flash all over the body. Good luck with it! -
That is gorgeous

Well... I'm putting that one on my "get list". Dantastic work!

Heck yea man. Getting my own hobby space was a prerequisite and agreement with my wife when we bought our house... I told her all I want is 1 room and the garage... the rest she could paint pink for all I care. So, I got what I needed... before that, I lived in a 1room add on at my grandparents house... so I literally worked off a piece of 2×12 on my lap on my bed!! Nothing like "finding" that #11 (with your butt cheek) you broke the tip off of... while you are asleep! Now, I do not have a professional setup like some of these guys who have been at it forever do... but I feel I have a very respectable place to do my building and painting with more than enough paint and supplies to probably last me several lifetimes. Now if I only had more space for kits and guitars! If you ever need paint just let me know... I can certainly help in that department. Now, get to work on that Chevelle... I wanna see that thing done!! Lol
