Leave it like this Ray It's really nice! Every time I have stripped the paint on one of my model, (using Easy-Off oven cleaner) the putty stipped off too and I had to start over. Maybe someone knows a miracle product that can only remove the paint?

Transtar II Log Truck
AmericanMuscleFan replied to DRIPTROIT 71's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
FANTASTIC build Brian! I do love everything you have done so far and the red engine looks so good between those light blue frame rails! You will make me want to start building big trucks again... -
Nice project Craig! This is a very beautiful Camaro body style and the hood scoop you planned to make looks very good... very Chevy I would say! Good job on the front valance by the way!
-
Nice project Rex, not a lot of this Mustang body style around! You do have a well garnished engine parts bin sir... hope you will find what you looking for, a 351 Cleveland would be nice under the hood! Good job on the body stripes by the way!

Good call, I love it already! Very cool project Anton, I do love HEMIs and Cudas so it's pleasant to see one build away from its country of origin... the love for cars doesn't have frontiers! The expected stance is top notch by the way!

First, I want to welcome on board sir! Even with a busy workbench you can build model (mine is also cluttered) and it seem that you have most of the necessary tooling. The age is not a problem either as long you find the pleasure and satisfaction in the process! The '58 Chevy Impala is a very cool car so I'll be thrilled to come back to check your progress!

64 Dodge D100 Pickup Pro Street
AmericanMuscleFan replied to AmericanMuscleFan's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Hello everyone! Another small update on the Lenco transmission build, I was able to mostly complete the details on the gear cases and I decided to use a brass rod to mimic the input/output shaft. Still some work to do but almost there so I will move to the shifter and make the final adjustment later. Sorry if most of the parts made so far are not finally assembled but I need to spend most of my free time on the milling and the lathe before the summer comes around. Thanks for looking, comments are welcome! Take care, Francis Output shaft splines engraved using the corner of a standard 0.032'' end mill. Nipples (refer as shifter modules) drilled with a 0.016’’ drill bit for the pivot pin and slotted using a 0.020’’ end mill. Main components in progress. -
Very good progress on the truck Dan! It is the first project of you that I see since I joined the forum and I did not suspect that you were a lover of big trucks. I built several in my youth but I see that despite the chrome problem on your kit, these are very detailed and precise compared to many car kits of the same scale. I do not say no to build one in the future and I see that there are serious experts and amazing builders in the field on the forum! I will certainly come back to check your progress!

Thanks Joe and Jerry! I like the analogy with the book, although I'm not a big reader but I think that an happy ending would be good! Take care, Francis -

Superb build from bumper to bumper, inside and out not forgetting this very convincing and well executed big block engine... A show winner!!!

Nice trick on the door panels Joe! The interior looks great and very representative of the 1:1 car. Well done buddy!!!

That's a beauty Jason! I won't be embarrassed to park this superb yellow Chevelle in my driveway... with a car cover of course in order to protect that flawless paint job! Well done sir!!!

I built a 58 Chevy Impala when I was a kid and it was molded with openable doors so I don't know if it's the same kit? Thing sure I don't recall if the side molding were separate parts. Very cool and rare feature anyway! Great work Ludwig!!!
