I really enjoyed building this model. Goes together pretty easily with just some minor flash and mould line removal. Pet pieve as( with many models) are the bumpers attached to the sprue on the top of the bumper exposing the orange plastic that the kit is moulded in. Another surprise is there are no headlight or taillight bezels in the kit that are on the real car. Molotow (or other)chrome pen with a steady hand rectified that but it would have been nice to have the chrome bezels.
The hood is from Lex and did require quite a bit of reshaping, filing and sanding to fit. Still not perfect but I just kinda gave up after getting it close. I also removed the drip rail. The wheels and tires are from my stash. I would have liked the stance to have been a bit lower. Paint is Createx Airbrush Colors Pearl Tangerine with a touch of gold Createx mixed in over Styrynelz gray primer. After the paint dried I misted a light coat of the gold to get a gold highlight. Clear is Rusto Crystal Clear Acrylic Lacquer. I chose to blackout the grill.
Thats all folks....thanks for looking?
Hi neighbor!! I get the barn finds website postings every couple of days.. It just amazes me how many stored, sitting and neglected old cars are still out there. But of course, a lot of them are total basket cases.
I certainly be following this. My first new car purchase was a '66 Chevelle SS and I have 2 of the Lindberg kits to replicate it. I'm wondering how much different the kits are.
