Phew, you guys sure have my old head swimming with all this. My rule of thumb, and I paint in my garage, is humidity in the 60's and temps around 85 and below in the garage. Can't say my paint jobs are substantially affected tho. BTW, I use Createx and craft paint. Interesting but somewhat confusing info....at least for me.

It's seeming that clear coating is becomming an issue with several on here. I have only used two clear coatings in my last 5-6 years of modelling cars and those in only the last maybe 2 years. The Rusto Acrylic Crystal clear and actual Future (an old bottle) I have. I still have occasional issues with the Rusto but if I don't get too heavy with the coats it comes out just fine. But, I only use acrylics (craft and Createx) so have no experience over any other paints.

Looks terrific Gerry. The '66 is my favorite GTO. My wife had a convertable when I met her. I have had that kit sitting on my shelf for a couple years....nervous about doing it for some reason. Anyway, you did a great job on her! ?

I use the Stynylrez now also Joe. Get mine from Spraygunner.com. A 4 oz bottle lasts quite a while and no thinning necessary.

Does make you think huh!! I've never used Tamiya spray can paint but me being a bit of a cheapskate and having to order it online keeps me from trying it. Just sayin'?

I lay sandpaper on a hard surface (I have a small cutting board) and drag each mating surface of the engine back an forth a few times to flatten them uniformly. Put liquid brush on glue (Tamiya) on each surface, squeeze them together then brush the glue (immediately after putting them together) on the seams. After drying, sanding the seams are usually not visible after priming or painting......I say usually?

The stance looks good to me TJ. I'm doing the same car right now and on the front I cut the nubs off the spindles and drilled a hole and glued a pin at the highest point I could and with the larger holes in the wheels I can actually adjust the higth up or down a fraction and I will glue them to the flat part of the spindle. I guess my explination makes sense. Mine will be more of a Day 2 built with Torque Thrusts and high rise hood.

Looks like you are a Vette fan Gerry, especially since a lot of the first pictures are Corvette heavy. There were several Vette's in the pics I would love to have.
