  1. VERY VERY NICE Claude. The finish on that color is outstanding?
  2. Thats quite a wild build Kenneth.?
  3. As you know Bob I was having internet issues and I did'nt see your pictures posted. Looking really great Buddy?
  4. I guess I didn't specify "Baddest Production" Camero, tho it is a very limited production as are/were all COPO cars. That is a mean machine there tho "Snake"
  5. The 23-25 psi is exactly what I did. I have a water filter on the compressor. If my old brain can remember the time I'll try a little lacquer thinner as you suggest. Thanks for the input Dave.
  6. Sorry took so long to respond to your answer Dave, having some weird internet issue so typing this on my phone. I figured maybe I was initially spraying it too far away and maybe too fast of passes. So, I got closer and slowed down. Still dried with the rough texture. Guess I'll jusbe doing the 0000 to smooth it. I really like using this stuff but just wish I could get it on smoother. Heck, rattle an Krylon goes on smoother but then again, it's not acrylic.

  8. Well I'm pretty dissappointed to here you too had problems. I have been bragging on this stuff and reccommending it. I have used it on several models without issue over Createx Pearl (my 71 Cutlass), Duplicolor (one model), and craft paint ( a couple of models). But now I had checking issues on my last two paint jobs when using the same Createx Wicked Color paint on each one.. Now I wonder if it's the Wicked Color line of Createx. Hmmmm.
  9. looks good Michael and cool looking P-51 too.?
  10. Wow Tom, thats one heck of a smooth job on the Chevelle. I loved the Rusto Acrylic Crystal Clear until my last 2 applications over Createx Wicked Acrylic. In my latest apps of it, I really think the Createx needs to dry about 5 days minimum (but my impatience got the better of me) or you get checking. I have yet to have a problem with flattening but it does lose a bit of luster when it dries. A good polishing brings most of the shine back tho.
  11. Looks very good Zack. Nice simple stock build?
  12. I'm doing a re-visit to this thread instead of starting a new one. The last 3 times I sprayed the Stynlyrez gray primer it dried with a rough finish that I had to smooth (sandpaper/or steel wool). I quoted you Dave because I know you use it a lot. I sprayed it with my Mr. Hobby Procon #3 tip airbrush and it sprays just fine unthinned at 25-30 psi. The humidity and temps at the time of spraying varied some but in todays case it was ideal. Today I added Liquitex medium thinking maybe it was drying out the nozzle but the finish is no different the the last 2 times. Got any suggestions Dave or any other users of this product??
  13. Funny stuff there Mr. Snake. Hmmm, something to consider???
  14. Thanks for the kind comments Bob. And the Willy's paint looks great. Beeeeautiful red.
  15. Krylon Foil is pretty darn close if applied to a very smooth surface.
  16. I agree with you all, might just have to give it a try
  17. I use Davis G's blend with great results with craft paint.
  18. As "Zippy" knows, I have been using the Rusto Crystal Clear and have had good results. That being said tho, My last application of it over Createx Wicked Color is giving me grief. I think I know the problem in that I may have applied the clear too soon after spraying the Createx. I sprayed it the third day after the paint job and for the second time (this was a repaint due to the same issue) and the result was crazing similar to when you spray conventional lacquer over enamel. Since my memory isn't was it used to be, it seems on my '55 Chevy Pickup build painted with a very same paint It was over a week before I sprayed the clear and it came out just fine.
  19. Looks good Bob. So how do you like the this clear compared to the other Rusto clear you were using?
  20. Thanks Christopher! Thanks Buddy. Not a big fan of them but they really do compliment it.? Thank you David and Chris. Thanks David. Just painted it with a tan craft paint and brush cleared with Future. Then the BMF strips and cleared over that. The BMF is the infamous new batch of poor adhesive. I actually put one strip on and the whole strip just slid right off?
  21. Nice job Scott. I just finished a '55 Step-side (see my "under glass" post). Pretty sure it's the same as the styleside, just different bed. Same issue with the bed, you do almost need 4 hands to put it together. Also, the radiator sits too high as I did n ot realize and the hood doesn't go all the way down as I can see in your build. Good job?
  22. Yeah yeah I know?....I do have a '66 ElCamino to build tho.
  23. Thanks Bob and Carl. Won't likely be another one tho.
  24. My first Pick-up truck build is finally complete. Only real glitch I had was after it was finished and I set the hood on to discover it doesn't go all the way down. Too late to make alterations so, oh well. Paint is Createx Pearl Red, clear is Rusto Crystal Clear Acrylic Lacquer. Wheels from my stash (not my favorites but I just wanted different than the almost always Torque Thrusts.)Thanks all who commented in the WIP section. So here goes folks: Thanks for looking?
