  1. Very cool Gary, nice engines too?
  2. Looks great.. I did one in black to match my Daughters 2019. I really is a nice simple kit that can be pretty nicely detailed. Good work Benton.
  3. Welcome Steven, you seem to have already learned a lot here and you will continue to a whole lot more. The engine looks darn nice. Happy modelling?
  4. I have been using craft paint lately and I have read (and it makes sense) that the blade may cut down to the primer. I guess clearing then foiling, then clearing again would be a good idea.
  5. BMF and foiling look great Craig. Interesting that you will clear after the foil. Seems that some do, some don't.
  6. I had to get one myself and I did yesterday with the 40% sale at HL, $15 with tax hard to pass up. I haven't decidid on a color either. Good luck on yours Joe.
  7. After reading a couple of threads about '57 Chevy models (I'm not new to building them, I have built a few)and discussion about the Snaptite '57 I just had to jump into the fire on one. Heck, for $15.00 including tax with the 40% HL sale this week, why not huh!! I realize its a curb side with minimal parts but it should be easy to make it look presentable ( assuming I have no paint issues of course. With the troubles I am having with my WIP '55 "Hot Rod, I looking forward to easy.
  8. Not having to spray primer is appealing (for smoothness) but I assume since I use craft acrylic, it would be needed for the paint to adhere What ya say??
  9. Yep, will give it another go. Thanks Mark for the encouragment and compliments. Strange tho, the Mustang is the same black and clear.?
  10. Well as you know, I repainted all the black and it "krinkled" again (and as before just the roof). Different black and one I used on 2 other builds. I'm don't plan on re-painting the roof again for the third time (i'm done with it). Since the clear sanded down smooth before I did the last spray of the clear I'm gonna sand it again to get the krinkle out, polish sand it with finer paper and just polish it and leave it if it looks good. Maybe use Future on just the roof when it's done. Total frustration has set in my Friend!!
  11. Well we left the New Orleans area after Katrina, all the old places weren't even there anymore and hadn't been for years.?
  12. I'm assuming I'm understanding this tread correctly, the good old days for me were the early 60's to early 70's cruising the streets of New Orleans between the 3 "Hot Rod" venues in my '57 Chevy and later in my SS Chevelle.. A literal car show and street racing every weekend.
  13. I missed this one, beautiful job Jim?
  14. Super cool Bill, great work?
  15. The truck looks great Bob. You and I are talking a lot about paints and painting (among other things?). T he satin finish on that P/U is right on.?
  16. Well this could turn out to be an interesting thread, no so much for the HF Primer but Peter said.....no primer at all.
  17. Yer welcome, after seeing the pics of the real car it make's it more impressive. Grrrr8 job. So whats next????
  18. Very cool Chuck. If it was a real 1:1 truck, my long gone Dad years ago would say, "the wheels are worth more than the truck". ?
  19. A friend of mine who passed on way too young bought a new '624-door Hardtop Impala. He loved to drive around (even in freezing weather with the heater full on)) with all the windows down and the AM radio blasting away. Great memories!!
  20. Nice one Michelle, you're stepping up your game?
  21. Both will look great. Yeah I thought the same about my '55 Build, but yes, will likely be easier.
