  1. Ohhhh-K......I guess there is something to say about not wanting to admit it for some?
  2. Since I revealed my '55 "Hot Rod" will be a two tone paint job, I have a question for the "experts". Using craft acrylic (which I have now decided to be my go to paint), obviously the first color will need to be masked over in order to do the second color. I'm thinking the first color may not be too conducive to having masking tape applied to it, possibly messing it up upon removal. Would it make sense to clear it (I use Rusto acrylic laquer) before doing the second color?? Your thoughts appreciated!!
  3. You folks must be doing really well on your works in progress. No new "screw-up"'s posted since the end of March?
  4. Looks great completed Ray?
  5. How in the heck do you get all those print lines smoothed down???
  6. Great looking Fury Steve, beautiful work but then all your builds look great!! Love the engine, in the 1:1 car that bad boy would be a terror on the street! ;
  7. So far several my builds have been but not exclusively replica's (or at least close to) of my former cars and my current TransAm. I still have a few more to do yet. Other than that, '57 Chevy's (1 replica is done) are a favorite of mine. All Tri5's, GM muscle cars (only Ford the GT350H that was a present), 60's and early 70's Vettes and Porsches. Early Gassers and other Drag cars are appealling too. Unfortunitly, there isn't enough time to do a whole lot of what I would want to build tho I do have the kits (and I'm fully retired). Oh well?
  8. No work last couple days but thanks for the latest compliments.
  9. Nice job on what seems to have become an icon of a car lately??
  10. Looks verrrry good Bob, very nice interior and engine detail. I like's it??
  11. Oh, and BTW, The '56 looks very good!!!?
  12. Wow Bob I'm a bit envious. Your "Shop" Garage is really cool, some nice stuff in there and soooo freakin neat!!?. As for pulling out the '49, it's exactly what I have to do with my TA every time I paint. Now with that out the way, I'm just wondering. The '56 looks to have a satin finish, is that what you intended? And as for the pledge, it is definately an alternative to the Rusto Acrylic Lacquer that I have begun to use especially in terms of fumes but I'm not too sure about not clear top coating it ( at least with the pledge only). Really don't think you will get a nice finish gloss with the mixture only. Just my 2 cents my friend.
  13. Looooooking great Chaz!!?
  14. Looks like a smooth finish on the P/U body "Zip". As for the'67, in your WIP thread on it, you seem to have given up on it. I really think you should work on redoing the paint job if you're not happy with it. Just me Bob.?
  15. And ya'll did?
  16. Looks great John. Looking at the first pics I was gonna ask about the high stance but now seeing the actual AWB car not an issue. I do wonder why the real car sat so high tho.
  17. Some nice stuff there Craig. The Fireball parts have a great reputation and sure look good.
  18. Its funny how if you let the MM Pontiac Engine Blue settle the color in the bottle is green. But of course after mixing it becomes the correct (well pretty darn close)color.
  19. You did a good job on it Justin, definately plain and simply, but boy, as you said, the hood is "atrocious". I'm pretty sure I have seen aftermarket replacement for it somewhere.
  20. Having lost interest in NASCAR many years ago (mostly because the cars aren't "stock cars" and bare mostly no resemblance to the real car they are said to be) I will say the model itself looks great!! Great work on that Jay, beautiful paint.?
  21. Thanks Guys, I do have resin collectors from Ron Coon Resins tho they are just a bit too small for the 4- 2mm rosen pieces so will have to do some kind of mod there. And yes, it did take a lot of reshaping to get it as presentable and to fit in the chassis. As for the car color, it will be red over black in the traditional '55 two tone scheme. There I revealed it?
  22. I don't yet have the expertise to tell you what went wrong there. As you know I have had pretty good results with the Anita's paints. As Chaz said, could be spraying the craft paint too dry, maybe too far away. Also, what did you thin the paint with? We need to get you some help here?
  23. For my '55 Chevy "Hot Rod" build, my second ever attempt at headers. 2mm rosin, no collectors yet. I guess they came out OK, not too sure about the design tho.
