  1. I really tried to get more photos of this VW van, but this is the only good one I got. The whole thing was painted with all sorts of 'stuff'. Seen in Cocoa Beach, FL earlier this evening.
  2. My haul from the swap meet today. Photos of the meet posted in that forum. The ziploc bag of steering wheels was hard to pass up!
  3. Just a few from the swap meet today. If you're in central FL it's worth your while to check this one out. Free admission. This was my second time going as a buyer and I got some great deals. It was 40 degrees with a 20mph wind, which is cold for Florida! It probably helped with the deals.
  4. Some random photos from a very quick visit to a local show that's held every Thursday night... I didn't have my regular camera with me so excuse the poor quality!
  5. I'm in for the Bond Bug, and Routemaster bus for sure, maybe the London Taxi. I also build aircraft, Airfix is putting out some stuff this year that will find it's way to my stash.
  6. Giving this a bump. I'll likely be there as a buyer. Last year's swap was great!
  7. That's par for the course with Hpi guy. I've seen some of his stuff where it was put together wrong, etc. I don't understand the following he has. 99% of his stuff comes off as half done & amateurish.
  8. I asked my LHS owner if he could get this Spray Chrome last week. He carries other Revell paint products. He looked it up and said it's not showing up on any of his supplier's websites yet. He did say there were a couple other people asking about it besides me, so it seems to be drawing some interest!
  9. Saw this VW at the gas station this morning.
  10. I believe it. I've driven a bunch of C1-C3s. C4's are great cars but not for my arthritic self. LOL They're a tremendous value for what you get.
  11. That's a nice clean car! The aftermarket has really come on for these cars the past few years. I drove a friend's '88 convertible and found it a nice riding & driving car, my crippled self just had problems getting in & out...LOL
  12. Excellent work! It's nice to see a stock build.
  13. Out running errands and saw this '57 Chev in traffic & this 2022 SL55 AMG parked in front of Dollar Tree...lol! I'm not big on newer Mercedes, but that is a good looking car!
  14. That was a well produced film! Round 2 could take lessons from Heller when it comes to video production. There are several kits that have my interest both cars & aircraft. Thanks for posting this!
  15. Saw a Mercedes badged "EQS 450". Never saw one before, come to find out it's one of the new all electric cars. Not something I'd drive, but I like seeing different stuff on the road. Pic for reference.
  16. That's going to be interesting to see how the higher prices affect sales, if at all. HL has lost it's novelty on me. Same kits, most of the time it's just pandemonium in the store. It's cheaper for me to pick up kits at my LHS than it is to go to HL even with the 40% off! Not to mention I get better service at the LHS.
  17. Seems today was C3 Corvette day. Spotted the blue one while riding out some neighborhoods looking for cars, the orange '77 was a nice car. The '69 Ford Pickup is another from this morning. The '56 Chev is from a couple days ago. I do enjoy looking for vintage tin & fiberglass!
  18. I used to go to the Kissimmee Mecum auction back in the day when it was held in conjunction with the NCRS Winter Regional, once they moved the auction and it exploded in growth I quit going. Although I do only live about 45 mins from the auction site, maybe I'll take a ride over and see how it's changed. Thanks for the heads up!
  19. I'm in Florida. I alternate between central Florida and the east coast of FL(Cocoa Beach) near the area where they launch rockets & formerly the Shuttle. That's why they call it the Space Coast. We don't have many shows in the summer as it gets too hot, but October-May is prime time show season in Florida! I don't hit up many cruise in/Cars & coffee type shows. I usually only go to ones with a swap meet so I can drag home more BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH I don't need. LOL
  20. '39 Chev Street Rod & a gold Avanti I spotted while out running errands this morning.
  21. Paint & Revell '32 Roadster from the LHS.
  22. This is about 30% of my car/truck kits. This closet is about 5 feet away from my bench for easy access! The other kits are in another part of the house boxed up.
  23. Those aren't my builds, just a couple pics I grabbed from Google. Here's a couple I did. Sorry for derailing Jeff's thread!
  24. I've got a couple Cabriolets in the stash and a couple built ones already. Thinking about taking one of the Monogram '30 Model A Coupes I have and making it into a 30 Cabriolet. Here's a 30 & 31 for comparison. I've built a few 1:1 Cabriolets for customers. They're one of the more complicated Model A's to restore! The '29 & '30 Cabriolets had straight windshield while the '31s had the slant windshield amongst other improvements over the earlier ones.
  25. I'm not a fan of Krylon or Rust-Oleum for models, stuff is too thick IMO. I used to use Dupli-color primer 80%, Tamiya for the other 20%. My local auto paint jobber gave me a can of this to try. So far I like it better than Dupli-color. Sands better than Tamiya and covers better than Dupli-color. I'll likely go back and pick up a can of black & white.
