  1. Hi Tim, yet another gorgeous build. I can’t remember if you print your own wheels, or are they Zman pieces? Wheels and tires make a vehicle in my opinion, along with a killer stance, you have a knack for choosing the perfect wheels. Is the body colour a custom mix? I’m looking for something similar for an upcoming project. Cheers, Steve
  2. Sheesh Tim, you are cranking out one beauty after another. Very nice! I now realize that I need to buy one these, then have great lines. Stance is perfect as always on your builds. Cheers, Steve
  3. Coming along very nice Jim, it’s a very shiny Bug! Great use of colour as usual. I will definitely use that technique to mask/paint wheels in the future, thanks for showing that.
  4. Awesome kit bashing Dennis! Your bodywork always looks great. The engine is nicely detailed as is the whole engine compartment, the added wiring definitely makes a big impact. The wheels give it that aggressive/sleeper look. Nice clean build as always sir. Cheers, Steve
  5. Coming along nicely Greg. I like that you pin almost everything, I need to do more of that, I do some pinning, but clearly not enough. The detail on those door cards was barely visible, your additions are definitely a big improvement. Cheers, Steve
  6. I’m a little late to the party… Looking great Bob! These cars do look good tubbed out. That engine is very sinister looking, love it. As for the interior issue, exactly what Donald said above ^^^^. The blue is a great choice too. Cheers, Steve
  7. A small update again, but progress… Thought I’d share some of the small detail bits I’m working on. The door cards are cleaned up, still need a bit of fine tuning but close, and I cut some pins for the vent knobs. I will probably file the heads a touch smaller, and dial back the chrome finish with semi gloss clear. They won’t be all that visible once the car is assembled, but I will still refine them some. Here’s what I have now… The 8 track player is getting close. I actually needed to take a picture so I could see what I have! So I can see I need to clean things up, and even out the knobs a bit. Ext pic is what I’m trying to replicate… And what I have so far… yes, I am absolutely putting an 8 track tape in it!! Maybe a couple on the seats too, we’ll see. Made some door lock knobs… I often use pins for turn signal levers and such. Wayne’s car also has a tilt wheel so, I removed the molded turn signal. Drilled for pins, then made a knob for the tilt lever. Now that I see it this big, I can see it needs a little refining too. That’s where these big photos are good, (and sometimes not so good) as they show flaws that look good to the naked eye. I started working on the seat belt retractors, but that will be part of the next update. As always, thanks for taking the time to look, and all comments welcome.
  8. Hi Clay, I did, and still am, considering doing the green axle tag, and a few of the other “obvious” tags. I was thinking maybe painted clear scotch tape. I hope you will do a WIP when you do a replica of your ‘70. Cheers, Steve
  9. This is getting fun with all you guys and your ‘41’s. Nice work and keen eye Greg. Always something to learn on your WIP’s. Between the 3 of you, there’s going to be some real nice builds when complete… and lots of styrene dust…. Cheers, Steve
  10. Very nice scratching!! That totally looks the part!

    '64 GTO

Wicked stance Steve! This will be really cool. Kinda cruel for you to tease us then tell us you’re going to make us wait..??‍♂️?
  12. Time for another update. Shocks are now installed, along with the front suspension. I included the photo I have of the rear end and tried to copy the photo with my model… In this photo you can see how I tried to mimic the aluminum tag on the diff cover. The engine is now pretty much done. I did however, forget to dust it before this photo…? My intention is to replicate the foam seal on top of the air cleaner, but… I need to wait til final assembly and make sure I have clearance. First photo shows that the snorkel has been hollowed out. All the “plumbing” to the air cleaner is now done. Today I started working on the interior. I initially thought that other than the 8 track player it would be straight out of the box… Nah Not much to show yet, here’s the main parts before meddling… I decided I should add the vent knobs below the dash. reshaping some styrene should work to get the shape. Looks a mess now, but I’ll blend those in, then drill some hole to receive pins which should look the part once complete. In the last picture you can also see I accidentally included a shot of the emergency brake release that will also be added. Hoping for another update soon. Thanks for having a look!!
  13. Excellent! Another islander, that’s awesome. There’s quite a few of us on here, at least 6. Welcome to the forum too Clay. With your avatar name and photo I would expect you were doing a frame off on an old VW Bug! Cool that you are working on a Cutlass. Wayne drives his car in the summer, so keep an eye out for it. Thanks for having a look.
  14. Excellent work all round Donald. Very nice job on the wiring for the lights, that would have been tricky. The interior lights are a nice touch, as model interiors are often difficult to see. You obviously did a good job “shielding” the lights to eliminate the spread of “unwanted” light escaping. Loving all the detail work, things like the decal in the back window. Cheers, Steve
  15. I believe he is just really busy. I ordered a couple of weeks ago, and the brief email exchange I had with him sounded like he was a bit behind… This is my first time ordering from him and I’m looking forward to seeing the parts for myself. Lots of great things said about his product on the site here. I will have a several year supply of distributors!
  16. Spaghetti and chickenballs
  17. Hi Mario, very nice clean build. That colour looks great on it. Superb photography as well, I especially like the last photo. I didn’t like this year of Mustang much when I was younger, but they have definitely grown on me. Still prefer a ‘69 but these aren’t far behind. Always enjoy seeing your builds.
  18. Yes, what they all said.^^^ I will also comment on that blue, it really is stunning in the sun. Excellent choice.
  19. Nicely done Curtis! I don’t recall ever seeing one of these built, love it. The opening headlights are a nice touch ad that’s a great colour choice for that car.
  20. Beautiful Mercedes Michael. I still like the lines of that body style, they have stood the test of time. I built one years ago, and thought the entire removable top being clear was a poor idea. Great colours and clean build. ??
  21. Yep, that’s what I’m talkin bout. Love watching the process. One day I’ll grow up and learn how to paint, I the meantime, I’ll watch how the pros do it…
  22. Another extremely creative build from the slightly twisted mind, and very talented hands of Claude. I would love to see the enormous pile of styrene leftovers from your kit bashes!! It would definitely hold its own next to the Camaros and Stangs at SEMA. The flame job is stunning . Well done sir, bravo. Cheers, Steve
  23. Hi Steve, this will be a cool project. In those first couple of photos it looks like a legit barn find! Looking forward to watching you work your magic on it, whichever way you go. I like the wheels with the 19” sleeves, very cool. Cheers, Steve
  24. Hi John, thanks for taking a look, and I appreciate the compliment. Thanks Jim, making progress slowly. The brake master was something I really wanted to try. There was a few swear words during the wire bending, but it was worth it. Thank you Bill, almost done with engine… Good to hear from you my friend. Ya, that was a fun little detail. The 1:1 was a FULL restoration, every nut, bolt, washer, everything… Are you on the island Clay? Hi Nigel, glad you found a useful snippet here, that’s what this forum is all about. My builds have improved considerably with all the tips I’ve got from watching all the talented builders here. I think he will definitely appreciate it. As I mentioned in the beginning, I will give him a link to this build thread so he can see how it came together. He has some diecast cars, but this is a little different. Ya, I’m not great at “box stock”, but as you noted above, I did say “mostly”?. I appreciate your kind words. I have been checking in on your masterpiece Francis, I really have no idea how you do it. A level of excellence that very few would ever achieve. As always, thank you all for taking the time to comment, it’s truly appreciated.
  25. Stoo short is a good name, I was thinking Frankenstude. It’s really starting to take shape Oliver. Are you tired of sanding yet?
