  1. Cool project Bob! That engine looks great, and has a sinister look to it, I like. Resin bodies are good, in that they offer options not kitted in styrene. I’ve done 3 or 4 now, and definitely don’t enjoy working with resin. Having said that there are a few more in the stash that will get built eventually. My only recommendation regarding resin is to do a VERY thorough job cleaning the body, I can almost guarantee that dawn alone will not be enough. Some of the suggestions above from others would be good to follow, and I think testing the primer adhesion with tape is a great idea. A little bit of extra work, but definitely worth it in the end Bob. I have no doubt this will be another great looking build from you, and did I mention that engine…killer! Cheers, Steve
  2. Francis my friend! Hope you are well. Just getting caught up on your latest posts. Awesome to see you back. Absolutely stunning craftsmanship as always, the details you add … err…. create are amazing. I don’t know how you do it, but I sure love seeing the results. Pretty sure I asked during your last build, but will you keep a rough parts count? It would be BIG number… Cheers, Steve
  3. Oh boy… love everything going on here Dennis. Beautiful work. Those 39 headlights look wayyyyy better than the kit items, what a difference. The stance, wheel/tire combo are spot on, and the engine looks fantastic. I built one of these in my younger years and have one in the stash that I will do one day. I want to build one similar to this as a mate for my 41 Chev truck. Getting lots of great ideas here. Cheers, Steve
  4. Nice progress Bob. Very cool colour choice for the body. Looks like you are getting close on this one…
  5. Awesome build Greg! I agree with Ricky above ^^. 56 has always been my favourite Tri 5 car. The rally wheels were the perfect choice and look killer. The paint really pops with the contrasting colours. The fact that you had to paint/mask/paint/and foil twice and came out with that beautiful finish is very impressive indeed. Looks like the Revell chrome may be worth picking up. Cheers, Steve
  6. Cool to see you building a 60’s custom Jim. I have a feeling that the paint on this will be spectacular when completed. I always love watching how you mask and layer your paintwork. Cheers, Steve
  7. Hi Greg, awesome to see this one back on the bench. Love the direction you are taking on the body work. Brilliant work on the taillight area! Those rear wheel arches look great with the lip added and skirts removed, good call. Great engineering and execution throughout sir. Cheers, Steve
  8. Yes sir! As Trevor said above ^^ your usual clean crisp building techniques. I still need to revisit a few of your builds to learn more about how you capture the subtle shades of black. I’ve mentioned it before, but it really makes a huge difference in the overall look of a finished model. Well done! Cheers, Steve
  9. Great looking new project Keith. I seem to have developed a “thing” for wagons as I’ve aged… Stance looks good, can you sneak the front down a skosh?? You know me, I like low! Truly it looks great as you’ve mocked it up, and nice wheel choice. Cheers, Steve
  10. Hi Luke, always love your builds mate, soooooo clean. The paint and foil work on 59 is spectacular! Painting the bumpers black was a very good call. ?? I need to order one or 2 of the Holdens…
  11. Hi Andy, hope you feel better soon. Still dealing with some lingering Covid symptoms myself, I wish you a speedy recovery. As for this build…. good grief man, what a challenging project. I almost bought one of these kits years ago, glad I didn’t, as I had no idea how difficult it would be to build. Love all the work you are doing to improve the kit, well done.
  12. Hi Patrick, absolutely beautiful build. The stance and colour choices are spot on, interior is very nicely done. Very crisp clean build all round. Pro touring is my favourite style of vehicle these days, although I still like the pro street cars too. Welcome to the forum, look forward to seeing more of your builds. Cheers, Steve
  13. Great looking build so far Dennis, I always enjoy, and learn from your WIP’s. Nice to have you back at the bench creating and sharing. I’m glad I’m not the only one who has a strong dislike of scratch building exhaust systems. It’s inevitable when kit bashing that there will be exhaust mods, never look forward to it. Cheers, Steve
  14. Stance looks good Bob. 41 Chev trucks are the best looking truck made in my opinion. I’ll be watching sir.
  15. Hi guys, it’s been a few minutes… I had a mini holiday to go watch the last NASCAR race of the season, then managed to get a nasty case of Covid upon arriving home. So, starting to feel better now and have an update. The interior is complete. I had a few things that didn’t turn out quite as good as hoped, but overall I’m happy with it. I added shoulder belt guides for the seat belts, Door locks, and new gauges. The inside of the body got a dome light and rear view mirror. I tried to polish the kits glass, but there was a couple of deep scratches on the windshield that wouldn’t come out. So I made new glass from acetate for front and rear glass. Not perfect, but a definite improvement, the optical clarity is better, but still has some scuffs depending on the light. With the interior complete, it was time to mate the body and chassis. As you can see, there are still some wires to connect in the engine compartment. I will get the details done under the hood, then install the bumpers, splitter, nav antenna, and side view mirrors and then, at long last it will be complete!! The ride height turned out as hoped. It’s rewarding to finally have this one close, it’s taken way too long. Thanks for having a look. Cheers, Steve
  16. Gorgeous build Tim! I love seeing unusual cars built. Love the stance, colour and wheel choice, great stuff! I’m pretty sure I need one of these…
  17. Beautiful Caddy Mike! The paint is spectacular! Very nice job and a crisp, clean build all round.
  18. Nice to see this one completed Bill! It turned out great, I love Elky’s, and I love pro street, so… ya I love it!
  19. Nice to see this back on the bench Anton!
  20. Dang it !!! That sucks about the paint Greg, especially after foil… This is another fantastic looking build. I think the rallye wheels are a perfect choice on this, they look great. As always you have addressed many “little” issues that combine into a beautiful looking model. What colour of blue did you use on the interior, it’s gorgeous! Cheers, Steve
  21. Great looking build David! Nice details throughout.
  22. Awesome stuff Michael. You did an amazing job capturing his car in scale. Very well done sir!
  23. Hi Keith, so sorry for your loss. Our pets become such an important part of the family, and faithful companions. As for the build…Not sure how I missed this one, but absolutely love where this is headed. Nice work so far, I will be watching for when you get back to the bench. Take care. Cheers, Steve
  24. Hi Peter, I intend on providing the artwork. Having said that, I’m hoping they can use a photo for the artwork for one of the decals. I also have some other ideas I would need to send in the correct format. I’m not tech savvy, but I believe I can ask one of my local model club friends for help with that. I will do a “deeper dive” into their website in the next couple of days, at a glance it looked like they had fairly specific information which is always useful. Your input has been very helpful and much appreciated. Thanks, Steve
