  1. Hi all, another small update. Got the body cleared. I always get nervous doing final clear coat, although generally it goes well. I did have a wee issue with the clear, I think it may have been an older can? Not sure. There was some “bubbling” at the edges of some of the panels??. I have had some issues with paint over the years, but this one was new. So.... a bunch of sanding and a re-clear got MOST of it out, however there are still a couple of small “Bubbles” visible. I know some on the forum here would have stored and started over, I couldn’t bring myself to do it. I think that the defects are small enough that I can live it, sooooo.... Time to polish! I’m no expert at polishing, I still learn a bit every time. I have learned that it takes patience, and the results are worth it. This is the most complex body I have polished, so I will, learn even more. Thanks for looking, Steve
  2. Hmmm... maybe a wing from the 83-85 Hurst/Olds? Again, regardless of wing, no wing size of wing, this is going to be super cool. Do it your way! Cheers, Steve
  3. Hi Phil, your attention to detail is fantastic, and execution superb. This coming together really nice. Thanks for sharing the how to on the fender flares. Perfect timing, as I am planning a pro touring Camaro project this winter that will require similar mods. The plan is to build similar to this. Look forward to seeing your project in person soon. Cheers, Steve
  4. Hi Lorne, not sure how I missed this thread for this long. WOW!! This is my kind of truck, what a beauty. Absolutely killer stance. It sure is inspiring to watch builders like yourself, Tim H, Francis L, Claude T, and others creates these incredible masterpieces. Looking forward to seeing the body in paint. Cheers, Steve
  5. Hi Jim, I love following your builds! Very entertaining. As I have said before, your quality of builds is just fantastic. However, your sense of humour, and enjoyment of creating masterpieces, makes it even more enjoyable to follow along. Thanks for sharing. I now feel brave enough to try the salt technique for weathering! Cheers, Steve
  6. Hi Tom, as a guy who loves all things tubbed, I’ll be following. Love the same stance, I like ‘em low. Fantastic start. Colour? Cheers, Steve
  7. Hi Jason, I’m relatively new here on the forum, and hadn’t seen this build yet. I still have a lot of catching up to do! This is absolutely fabulous. I love Tim’s comment that this is like a modellers swimsuit edition, that gave me a laugh. There are a handful of you guys that are just in a league of your own, and it is truly a pleasure to watch the builds progress. Also fun to see the high amount of respect you have for each other. I will definitely be following along now, this is a stunning build, thanks for sharing! Cheers, Steve
  8. That thing is straight-up cool !!! Nice work Jim.
  9. I’m on board with no wing, but... it will be super cool either way.
  10. Hi Shawn, I am a lover of all things pro street. You are off to a great start, I will be watching. Really like the mock up ride height! Cheers, Steve
  11. Nicely done Michelle. I think my next project is going to be the mystery machine. Haven’t decided what I will do with it yet, but it won’t look much like the box art. Cheers, Steve
  12. Thanks Misha, I will do some research. Cheers, Steve
  13. Hmmmm... do I need one of those?!
  14. That is looking awesome Misha. Very nice work on the motor.
  15. Thanks Brian, glad to know I’m not alone. Pro street is definitely a past trend, but I like my tubs! Thanks Thomas, for me, wheels tires and stance are almost always my starting point. Everything else is based off of that first mock up. Karl, thanks you so much for the compliments, much appreciated! This is one of my better paint jobs, I was very pleased with how it turned out. Love your quote, “box stock is not an option” that’s perfect! Very rare .... ummmm never does something come off my desk box stock. Sometimes close-ish, but never stock. Thank you Eric, Thanks James!
  16. Thank you Misha, Dennis, and Carl. I appreciate the kind words. Everything now “hinges”...pun intended, on getting the doors on, and lined up. Hopefully no snags there. Trying to have this one wrapped up in a couple of weeks. Still not decided on next project. I will likely do a quick slammer build, possibly the Scooby doo mystery machine... then maybe an El Camino. Cheers, Steve
  17. Hi guys, another small update. This might be the last before going “under glass”. To those of you that have followed along with my first WIP, thanks! It’s been fun, especially having the UK gang’s input. In particular, a special thanks to Martin for the nudge to go for the hidden hinges and suicide doors. I had thought about it, but likely would not have done it without the input, so thanks. The chassis is really close now, just need tie rod, steering link, and finish exhaust. I will use polished aluminium tubing for the exhaust tips, most of my builds have “tips”. I added seat belts, and fire extinguisher to the interior. The body has its final colour coat now. I will be patient, and let that gas out for a few days before clearing it. After that, a few last details, polish out that orange peel, and final assembly. Sounds really easy now... When complete, I will take a photo outside. The colour looks really awesome in the sun. Cheers, Steve
  18. Looking awesome Jim!
  19. Love the stance, I like low. I almost bought that kit a few weeks ago, might have to go grab it. Very nice build. Cheers, Steve
  20. Very nice build Craig. Excellent finish and details. Cheers, Steve

    '76 Pinto

Hi Roger, I didn’t think I liked Pintos, but I really like the looks of that. Really nice build, and great colour. Cheers, Steve
  22. Hi Bill, I love this. I have had that kit for a few years and plan on heading down the same path you are. I will be watching... Excellent colour choice, and stance in the teaser looks great. I like low! I had been thinking burnt orange for my build, but seeing that colour...hmmmmm... Cheers, Steve
  23. Mikhail, WOW is right. That is a stunning build. The paint and detail work is absolutely fantastic. Love the two tone paint, very well masked, and perfect colour choices. The interior and chassis are amazing. Thanks for sharing. Cheers, Steve
  24. Good idea Claude, I may try that. Thanks for the photos, I will check out the rest of the 38 SUV photos. I love your builds. Cheers, Steve
  25. Hi Claude! That looks like a sweet ride. My only concern is that the taillights and body colour will be almost identical. Not sure how that will look, but hoping for the best. How about a side view of the ‘38 please. I used that license plate on my ambulance. Thanks for the input sir!
