  1. Got around to doing a dry fit of the cab and box on the frame. I worked at it for a while and saw the corners of the wing window glass was partially covering the slots where the dash locks in. I took my dremel tool and cut the corners of the wing window glass to fully uncover the slots for the dash but that wasn't enough. As a couple fellows had mentions the dash needed to be moved back so I enlarged the slots for the dash toward the rear. I got the cab to go on but the dash will not fit up to the glass. There is still a gap. I can use a small paint brush going through the window to move the dash around but it will not fit up to the windshield. I have not glued the dash in yet as I'm kinda at a stand still deciding on just what to do at this point.
  2. I did do some spoon test with the Krylon "Looking Glass" paint and the Tamiya TS-30 Silver Leaf paint. One of these two could be an option for the chrome on the engine. Just trying to tone down that bright shiny "Toyesh" look of the plastic chrome.
  3. What a change. Looking good so far.
  4. I don't build these big rigs but boy does that look pretty kewl. I really like the older ones.

  9. Thanks Mark....yeah I knew it was a snap-together kit but it was something different for my local HL and had a good price.
  10. Mike, that are my plans this morning to sand it and repaint. The humidity this morning is 95% so I may have to wait. Peter, I used the 91% alcohol I bought at Walgreens. I had used it a few times already so maybe that took some of the strength out of it.
  11. Your build is coming along nicely. The paint and trim look good Steve.
  12. I wasn't to sure about the paint at first but that candy lime green looks much better now. I like it.
  13. Nice. Wonder how many versions of the 41 Willys were produced by AMT, Revell, etc? Got a pic your Willys you could share Carl?
  14. I had the lower portion of the hood on my 1960 Chevy pickup setting in 91% Isopropyl alcohol for 3 days and it did nothing to the Tamiya lacquer paint. Now what???
  15. Thanks for posting the pics Tim. Here are my top 3 of the show. I really like the 37 Ford pickup since I use to have one.
  16. I don't think that's something I would go to. I agree....that horn would have to go.
  17. Thanks John. let me know about the metalizer paint. That's about the time I saw Big John. The Stone Woods & Cook Willlys was here as well. They put on a good show. These old Glasses set the stage for the Funny cars we know today.
