Well....I had a major setback this morning. I worked for a long time this morning trying to get the body to fit down on the chassis and it just did not want to go. The longer I worked at it the more frustrating it got. I finally pushed to hard and snapped the rear wheels and brakes, broke the axle, broke off the door panel and I don't know what all else. I also managed to mess up the paint job and destroy one of the decals. I gathered up all the parts and threw it all in a plastic tub and kicked it under the work bench. I am so ticked off .

That may be a tough one. Someone else may have better imformation than me but I believe for the car/truck (216, 235, and maybe the 261) it was called a Blue Gray and there were many variations of the color. The original engine color was a very dark grey with maybe a tinge of blue and can look black under low light conditions. I would do a search for 1950 Chevy engines and find a pic with the color you like then head to your local automotive parts store for a rattle can.

That Tamiya Italian red is the same color I painted my 41 Willy's. I re-primed mine white to get a lighter red. Once again....great job.
