The moment I feared came...time to slide the chassis & interior into that body with the massive downward curve. More complicated because I had previously integrated the rear chassis pan to the body... so spread the lower body, slide the chassis back into it at 45 degrees, then rotate the front chassis into position, without breaking or scratching anything. I had decided not to glue the windshield beforehand for fear of breaking it when spreading the body and thankfully the only damaged area from this delicate operation was top of dash. I can fix that before gluing the windshield.

Well done Gary, looks the part with the picture of the real car behind it. Is this from this car that the GT40 chassis was developed ? -
Need Help with Brush Painting
Pierre Rivard replied to Horrorshow's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
David, brush painting can be done but needs the right materials and experimentation to achieve good results. I do it because I model in the winter in Montreal. Personally I use acrylics for everything, plenty of thinning and multiple thin coats. I do polish the primer and clear layers but not the color coat. Here's a few examples -
Wow, your build captures the feel of the real car so well. Gives me incentive to get one of these old Monogram kits. Well done sir!

Got it, thank you Steve. Plans for a basic , no change OOB build are fading away... -
I think the plug wires look spot on for scale. Most of the supply is usually about 0.016 and that always looks a bit oversize in pictures. This is better.

Superb build Jason. It looks absolutely lovely. Citroen has brought to market so many innovative cars: Traction Avant, 2CV, SM, C6 and of course the fabulous DS which you have replicated to perfection. Bravo!

Your work on the fender flares looks very smooth. I tried the method once and did not achieve as nice a result. Did you make your own Webbers? -

First time I risk commenting on your work Charlie. The reason is that what you create is in a totally different league vs. the basic styrene models I make. You fabricate real parts from noble materials and assemble them like a real car. This is beyond impressive, it is magical. Thank you for sharing your methods. Pure joy to follow. -

My no cost solution for the wheels. Using the kit wheels, tires and decals. Deepening the rears by combining with front part of Monogram Nascar rims from the spares. Paint, washes and a bit of weathering. -
Nice to see color on the little Miller. Suggestion about touch ups. Fine tip brush to touch up over dark green bleed through with a bit of acrylic silver, then cover with your light green.

Indeed very cool. So far the engine and frame elements shown look spectacular. How hard is it to polish the metal parts? Can you share on your products & methods? The results are so nice.
