  1. Hey Bill, any more work done on this GTO engined GTO? I've been looking at these Gunze Sangyo GTO kits and hesitated and chickened out and got the Fujimi kit. Now I look at what you did on the Gunze body...and it looks really good!
  2. I had missed the post of your completed build. Awesome achievement. The car is magnificent.
  3. Not so much an OOB anymore is it? Your upgrades are very nice. Lots to learn by watching your work.
  4. Wow, 5 unique and wonderful builds.
  5. Wow Michal, that's a lot of builds, yet they all look so well detailed and finished ant that requires both skills and time. A great year!
  6. Share your resolutions for 2023. I'm going first I plan to build the Porsche 911 GT1, Pennzoil Livery, Tamiya kit, Indycal decals. It's on the bench. I plan to build the Chaparral 2D, 1966 Daytona configuration. Monogram kit on it's way, just made it through the border. I plan to build the Ferrari 250 GTO, N.A.R.T livery 62 Nassau or 63 Sebring. Kit on it's way from Japan, VRM decals on my bench. I plan to build the MB 300 SLR, 1955 Mille Miglia, modified to Fangio configuration. Kit and decals in my stash. I plan to stop buying and stashing kits... ok this one goes in the start exercising, lose weight and cut back on the whisky pile. It aint gonna happen... Four out of five. Proud of myself. Your turn guys!
  7. I disagree with the title Helmut. You have some great results here. The Ferrari California Spider is very beautiful but I am most impressed by the resurrection of the Hell...er Porsche 908. So much so I think I might start searching eBay for one of these old kits.
  8. I'm very impressed with the 0.007 film Steven is using. Definitely something I want to try. I used to dip parts in Future but I now brush it on the part and I think it is actually better. The key for me has been to do both sides for best results. Method used for glass and headlamp covers on Corvette Grand Sport below.
  9. Joining the party here with my 2022 builds. 7 done this year, a record by a long shot. I usually do about 4 with a break in the summer but this year I could not stop!
  10. Wow, great models here. A very good year!
  11. That's what I would call a great year sir! All beautiful models and very interesting subjects. It's in part looking at your models and the historical reference you provide that inspired me to move from Nascar modeling to Cobras, Ferraris, Corvettes and others. I like your idea of a year in review. I hope others will do it too.
  12. Rich, your 917 LH is beautiful. I couldn't do a decent looking silver if my life depended on it. I hope some day I can find a 917 LH kit. I'd love to do the Hippie Porsche. Your rendition of important subjects with these Fisher kits are always a joy to watch. Thank you for sharing it and happy new year!
  13. Nice build Jason. A shame Salvinos did not leverage the Monogram tooling for the chassis to make a better replica. You absolutely maximized the results possible with this chassis and as usual your paint finishes are impeccable.
  14. And throwing in a little bit of Francis in it too? A man of the world our Mr. J ?
  15. Welcome James, lot's of very nice 1/20 scale F1 kits out there. Tamiya kits are great and Ebbro even better!
  16. Hurry Chris, Paul is on the move! ?
  17. Love it, love it, love it! Your fabrication skills are through the roof and the paint finishes are so good. Thanks for sharing this wonderful build.
  18. Hold on here, you guys building one car together or each building one? Option one is a test of friendship, option 2 is a competition. Oohh this is gonna be fun!
  19. Definitely styrene if it was me. Evergreen has such a variety of products. I'd use the 1.6mm rod for a roll cage.
  20. Thank you Dan. Lot's of great info on the net about weathering techniques. Unfortunately most of them I can't use because I don't have an airbrush or the possibility of spraying (condo living). Considering I can only use brushes I'm happy with the results.
  21. Thanks for finding that old thread Ace. I started studying the method but I doubt I have the required skills to pull that off. Not saying no yet, I'll keep studying it.
  22. Thanks for the advice Gary. The 3D printed wheels do look great.
  23. Starting to figure out what I need to do about wheels & tires for an old Monogram kit. The topic is Mercedes 300 SRL at 1955 Mille Miglia. I think the best suited out there is the FPPModelos (Fernando Pinto) wheels but after conversion to CAD plus shipping from Portugal the set comes in at almost $100. Ouch! So I've been experimenting with a set or 3 piece resin cast from HRM. Lots of cleanup and looks decent but it might fit better on an early sixties Ferrari maybe... Also did some work on the lit wheels, de-chroming, cleaning up and refinishing. The shape is more suitable but the wires are a bit on the fat side still. However the kit tires are magnificent. So looking for input on alternative solutions as these two sets I build are not bad but I'd like to improve things a bit. Please bring your ideas and post pictures. Thanks,
  24. Beautiful build so far. I Kileys how you finished the metaled components, very realistic looking. Seems like a pretty good kit. I look forward to seeing how the wheels have been engineered and cast by Italeri.
  25. Beautiful build of a most intriguing car. My ears a bleeding just at the thought of the noise this monster could make!
