  1. Some of my GMs have two part lug nuts. The steel nut rusts under the aluminum skin, which distorts them or if you pull off the skin a standard lug wrench doesn't fit well.
  2. I hold my breath. It works great until I pass out.
  3. That could just be a sticker they had laying around that they thought would look cool on it.
  4. The first junkyard transmission I got for the van was no good. They found me a replacement yesterday and I put it in today. It seems fine, shifting a little weird but it's low on fluid because I ran out. The S10 is off the road, I put the tag on my yard Ranger. I think I'm going to try my first transmission rebuild with it, or at least my first disassembling of a transmission and then head scratching.
  5. That's funny, I'm cleaning my garage and just came across this. I removed it from my van and put in a different one.
  6. That just reminded me, buttons with words on them to tell you what they do instead of a symbol that you have to figure out. My friends traction control light came on and I said "your truck is slippery when wet".
  7. I figured it out fairly quick, but went through a couple definitely nots first.
  8. I don't like most factory jacks, but they're better than no jack.
  9. They're in the 57 also.
  10. Yet another thing I collect, some of them are old enough to have more useful information, like exploded views of transmissions.
  11. Here's a few pics if it helps. Here's a few pics if it doesn't help too.
  12. I agree, country would be enough for what some look for while hopefully being secure enough.
  13. Yes, when I see odd language or different spellings I check to see where they're from. It was handy.
  14. Unless there's some new tax I missed then I'm still entitled to free air to breathe.
  15. That's what I did with it when I got it, I got it running and drove it around the yard a couple of times. All the electrical was shorting out, I ran my own wires to a toggle, a momentary switch and a light bulb for the alternator. If someone wanted the car I'm sure it would be pretty much for the engine and transmission. I even have a couple 200-4Rs for it, I'm somewhat of a transmission collector. I guess the S10 is definitely project status now, I put the tag, insurance and even the back tires on a different truck. It looks very pitiful sitting in the back yard.
  16. I didn't say you can't complain, go for it. I'm sure you wouldn't mind that ad revenue in your pocket though.
  17. They sell magazines, which has been a dying industry for many years. I don't think they can afford to keep throwing money at something that doesn't turn some kind of profit.
  18. I haven't even seen it, but I already like your truck. I have a 93 and 99 OBS, but I wouldn't mind getting one with a stick.
  19. I just had to open my big mouth. The transmission went out in my wife's S10 today, both of her trucks are down. I need to get the transmission in the van so she has something to drive.
  20. They're essentially identical from 87-95. Maybe 96 also but I don't remember. There was some minor difference I can't remember for the 86. While I'm quite certain the engine block you make will be awesome, the rest are the important parts that at least I am looking for. It doesn't make any sense to me to buy a beautiful engine block and then cover it with parts that don't come close to it in detail.
  21. It looks like it's missing some glass.
  22. If you don't make that version then it won't be extremely accurate for those of us asking for that version.
