  1. They should be the same. There are some other chrome wheel faces, which are more spoke-like, found in the GEE-T variant of this kit, but I don't believe they are included with the Serpent version. Here are the chrome parts for the Bullhorn T, and you can see the empty row where the wheel faces would reside:
  2. The SMC engine and suspension parts are perfect for backdating the Revell 1/16 scale '34 Fords to a '60s era car.
  3. I scanned the relevant page of the October '95(?) issue of SAE which showed and mentioned the American SATCO '65 Impala, as well as a '71 Petty Roadrunner from either AMT or MPC, but can't find it now. I think American SATCO also announced a '60(?) Chevy Pickup, too, didn't they?
  4. Wow, Round2 is digging deep into the vault this year and reissuing the ex-Pyro "The Serpent" 1/16 scale custom T bucket show rod. This kit shares many parts with the other Pyro T kits-- Sno Skeeter, Bullhorn T, etc., bu they all have a pretty nice '60s era SBC and frame/suspension.
  5. They might as well use the licensing rights while they have them. I assumed the Barris 'T would be reissued, too, but hopefully the Bed Buggy news means the Barris T won't be reissued.
  6. Here's one of the JO-HAN ads from Car Model in 1967, courtesy of David Cura's Model Encyclopedia pages:
  7. This is a weird one, but it does appear to be a built up model of a "Way out Funny street cleaner from Lindberg in 1/8 scale -- cute 'n' crazy" Hard to make out, but it's the one in the center:
  8. Not the best image in terms of quality, but I believe this is a '69 Fury?:
  9. Ground Control coil overs? Looks nice so far Chris, especially the body/paintwork.
  10. In this case I would put the difference(s) on the shoulders of the AMT Art Department. It seems odd they would not have access to or know about the then-new Pete 359 with the wider nose. If the product number (which I can't make out on the sale sheet) matches up with the original issue of the kit, I would lean even more that way. Now if the sale sheet said Pete 351 and AMT intended to release a kit of the earlier, narrow radiator Pete 351, yes. I don't think that is the case here.
  11. Are the Bandag branded kits next?
  12. I think The Bug is accepted by most as the first "dragster", purpose built from scratch, strictly for quarter mile use: I think Monogram's Long John dragster was preceded by Hawk's "The Stinger" dragster by a few years, too. Looks like the original issue(?) of the Long John kit was motorized, like many other early Monogram automotive kits:
  13. Are these the '58 Ford wheel covers?:
  14. Here's Ellen's member profile page for contact info, too: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/profile/3159-eshaver/
  15. Interesting...I just bought a 1967 AMT brochure and it lists among "THESE COMPLETELY NEW TROPHIES COMING SOON" a Porsche 911 #2363. No pic, though.

  17. Looking at the Twister Vega body, MPC never updated the rear panel to Monza S Hatchback Coupe specs. The '76-'77 Vega tail light surrounds are still present, so I think "all" that needs to be done to the body is backdate the front header panel. Yes, it definitely is, but I guess I'm just hoping this kit is different, and there's a good reason for the long delay. I would be happy with just a backdated body and re-created (assuming the original wheel insert is long gone here) "mag" wheels, newer tires, etc. The chassis is so bad, and so far gone, I doubt it can be saved.
  18. Looking at the MPC "Twister Vega" kit, it's clear there is a whole lot of work to do to bring this kit back to anything respectable. What a hot mess this floorpan/chassis is: If it does make it back to '74 specs body-wise, I'm sure it can be worked with:
  19. Hard to say what actually happened. Maybe the mold was set up for a test shots, then removed, an later installed with the incorrect slides when production commenced. Yes, someone on the production end in China should have noticed the body was incorrect, but there aren't the number of people who can instantly recognize the trim differences between a 150 and Bel Air is getting smaller every day. Now, that's no excuse with the instant communication options we have available these days, but people still make mistakes. I can see the eBay headlines already...."RARE! RECALLED REVELL '57 CHEVY 150 BLACK WIDOW KIT"
  20. I really like this kit for some reason. The rear cab wall/bed front wall piece always needs some fine tuning for a good fit, though. Are you building it box stock, Jeremy?
  21. We've seen and know about what remains of the '63 Chevy II wagon, but was the Craftsman '60 Chevy wagon only issued once?: I can't imagine it's in any sort of workable condition it the mold still exists, unless they applied the Cosmolene 1/2" thick.
  22. I think it might be, or at least what became of the work out into the 1/16 Stepside Chevy:
