  1. What's interesting (to me anyway) is that Ertl started the tool sampling program in the mid-to-late '90s, and Round2 inherited many of the hanger shots when the purchased the AMT, MPC, etc assets outright. No knock on Round2 as they have put some effort into sampling what had yet to be checked out, so the more the better. I have looked over the hanger shot images a few times, but can't make out anything other than a van kit, a late '70s/early '80s Funny Car kit, and a few smaller scale (1/32, they look like) automotive kits.
  2. Might the F-85 Olds F/C have used a "shared' chassis with another kit, such as the Falcon or Tempest AF/X style kits? As for the Olds, best I can read the Post It Note attached to the hanger shot it reads: 02-2617 '64 OLDS F-85 "POOR" CONDITION RUST ALL OVER 5 GATES STUCK, RTN (assuming rotten?) EJECTOR PINS 7/15/97 Not holding my breath on seeing this one again soon.
  3. I should've been clearer-- I was talking about the body shells only. I suspect the mold for both the Bel Air and 210 Sedans both share the same base and differences are accounted for with various inserts as needed, but that's just a guess on my part. I have compared a few "newer" Revell 1/25 Tri-Five Chevy kits, but not these two, so again, my guess. Below is the mold half for the 1/25 Revell Datsun 240Z kit, and at the bottom left we see the cavity for the body shell. It is my understanding the two thick pins on either side align the bodyside sections, and those sections are what I'm speculating got mixed up when the everything was setup and run:
  4. T5 5-speed. I'm not crazy about the fender skirt wave nor the color of the car, but it is nice looking overall. Kind of a "meh" collection of candidates this year.
  5. Perhaps the '57 Bel Air Sedan bodyside mold pieces were installed instead of the 150-specific pieces. Both share the same Sedan roof height, and I can't think of any other changes between the two bodies which couldn't be accomplished by changing the bodyside inserts.
  6. Doubt it. Sand Hog...maybe?
  7. We do. Do you not have the option, Pete? It is listed among the "Options" when you post a reply to an existing topic, but at the top of your post when you start a new topic, like so:
  8. This option was reinstated two years(?) ago or so, and is especially useful for the Trade and Wanted sections, after what you're looking for has been found or sent elsewhere. Dave A, can you possibly update the pinned Trading Guidelines post to reflect this (semi) new ability to delete posts on your own?
  9. Nailed it. The Modern Grecian:
  10. When the instruction sheet says "use custom parts...", and the builder uses all of them.
  11. That's a good question. I don't think anyone is making the braided hose in a black color, but maybe you could try light coats of smoke tint (Testors?) and see if that achieves the desired effect. I think it might not be dark enough, though.
  12. The 1/25 Revell '53/'54 Chevy kit did have the IFS parts in most versions, so if you can get ahold of that part (and maybe the crossmember, too, if needed) you'd be on Easy Street. You can see the underside of the lower A-arms in the attached image, just to the left of the Y (V?)-shaped tow bar.
  13. It didn't show up for me, either, but when I scrolled over the "International customers please contact us" it was visible in the browsing bar at the bottom of the page. It seems like the have ordering disabled. as I was not able to add anything to the shopping cart.

  15. One Run of Fun, anyone?
  16. MPC has been having this "Dodge Duster" problem since the '80s.
  17. They are both converted for use as RVs, recreational vehicles. One has a boat stowed in its belly, too. Link: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1246302572058255&set=a.507867905901729.115896.100000355710619&type=3&theater
  18. Looks like Monogram reissued the Porsche Carrera in 1989, but it appears to be the only one from the series which was reissued:
  19. Looks like Round2 is planning to add decal sheets to its Parts Pack line, and is asking for you input regarding what should be included on those sheets. Here's your chance to let 'em know what you want to see: http://www.collectormodel.com/round2-models/3497-kat-chat-decal-sets-from-amt/#sthash.n7nHCVl9.dpbs
  20. Well, despite my effort creating a rear cab wall, I was never 100% satisfied with it, so I decided to use another Revell '65 Chevy rear cab wall. Not only is this Chevy rear cab wall a decent, easy-to-find-inside-a-kit piece, but it matches the forward bed wall, too...even though that's not really true to the 1:1 pickup, either. The good news is you can see almost none of the rear cab wall once the cab and bed or mounted to the frame, so I think I'll be at ease with the decision to use the Chevy cab wall. In the interest of full disclosure, I must confess to replacing the original rear cab wall I made with a cab wall from an AMT '60 Chevy Fleetside kit, which was a not very well thought out decision in hindsight. While the '60 Chevy wall was better than what I came up with and had nice stamped recesses, the wall section itself ended up a bit recessed, instead of flush with the cab edges, and it didn't match the forward bed wall, so it had to come out. With another '65 Chevy rear cab wall in hand, I did some measuring (twice!), cutting (yep, once), and sanding until the new wall fit well enough to permanently attach to the cab. Now I'm happy: I also did some fitting and sanding along the joint where the rear cab wall and floorpan meet, so that's pretty close to finished, too: I set the cab parts aside and did a little work on the bed, too, adding a small piece of C-channel into which the front edge of the bed floor will slide like so: Adding this piece provides a more positive locating method for the multiple bed floor-to-bed test fitting session which lie ahead. The wheel wells are going to be a challenge fit-wise, so I will make everything slightly oversized, then sand, test fit, and repeat until they are just right. Here you can see my first failed effort at a bed floor, but also how the floor piece fits into the bed itself: The top rear edge of the bed floor should be flush with the top edge of the valence panel, so I will add a piece of right angle channel underneath, again to positively locate the bed floor. So far, the bed floor is trimmed to the correct length: One last shot of some (very minor) sanding progress on the shim piece I added to the front of the the bedside. I can't recall off-hand if the fuel filler on the bedside needs to be changed or moved, but I'll leave it for now:

  22. That's a great idea. Plus, the soft rubber of the rubber band won't leave any dent/impression or knock off a head bolt, etc.
  23. I used to maintain this list when I was a moderator, but I relied on others to provide updates/changes as necessary. I deleted The Modelhaus and Micro Nitro as requested, but if someone wants to actively maintain this list, feel free to copy and paste the original post, then start a new post as desired. I can delete this old one and the new poster can keep the list updated.
  24. I wouldn't mind seeing the '63 Chevy II Nova 400 wagon return, but without the "rest" of the kit in hand and in ready-to-use condition, I don't see Round2 investing the money to backdate the body. I also can't see the majority of people paying $30+ for a curbside kit with no engine, fully molded in chassis details, and a *gasp* molded-in-color body, either. The days of selling for a buck each are long gone, too.
