I was happy to pay the asking price for this one, mainly because it's complete and unstarted with a few parts loose. No snapped off wheel mount bosses easily adds $20 to the price. Nice score, Scott.

Were they Torq-Thrust or maybe Astro style 5-spokes? I figure Round2 might include a re-tooled set of mages they include with the '67 Charger reissue, or maybe the '69 Barracuda.

His name's Chad. Show Chad some respect! I have wondered why he doesn't at least don a Round2, AMT, MPC, etc. shirt while on camera, but maybe Chad is all about the business, and not the look. Yep, this was one of the first Round2 releases IIRC, and with the tampo printed Polyglas tires now available for inclusion, it's probably easy money for Round2.

I'm sure MPC could've also released some type of ambulance variant had this kit been produced:

Old blade disposal?
Casey replied to Earl Marischal's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Why wouldn't you put it in your recycling bin, with all of all of the other metal and plastic which is collected? -
I remembered incorrectly from what I read in this article...: https://craftsmanship.net/parts-recreation/ ...so it doesn't sound/read like they are set up for any in-house mass production. I'm guessing it's the same Kalkaska, MI facility where the Highjacker Ford Van and the Lindberg '66 Chevelle, '67 Cutlass, Dodge Fever A-100 pickup, etc. were molded, too. I'd love to hear what the story is behind those kits (and presumably other former J. Lloyd kits) being produced (stored?) there... Back to the kit, if anyone has this reissue and a Revell 1/8 scale chopper, do the tore from the Grim Reaper fit the Revell kit's wheels by chance?

Yep, new images online show the 10th Anniversary edition box.

No, the Westcraft boat was included with the AMT '64 El Camino.

I would bet this kit isn't going to be reissued for another 30+ years, so if true, it's probably more cost effective to produce 5,000(?) kits locally (maybe even in house? IIRC there is a molding machine at Revell's mold storage facility), then put it back into long-term storage again. IIRC the Datsun Off-Road Pickup kit was also molded here in the U.S., too, and maybe the forthcoming Mazda RX7 kit will be similar.

AMT American La France Pumper Re-issue?
Casey replied to hooknladderno1's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Stevens has it listed as a future release, and others likely do too: AMT-10531/25 American LaFrance Pumper Fire Truck -
AMT-1051 1/25 1983 Chevy Camaro Z28

If the car hauler parts are able to be run separately (which I doubt) from the Ford Louisville cab/frame/etc, and if the car hauler bed fits the C-600 stakebed without modification (which I doubt), and if...well, you get my point, and that's ignoring the integral sleeper on the real C-series.

What kit had a 1/25th Moon Gas Pedal?

The Revell Orange Crate '32 Ford Sedan kit include one, too. -
Mega Hobby is very quick to ship in my experience. I ordered a a few decals sheets and they were shipped the same day, and arrived within three business days of placing my order.

The T-top roof panels are separate parts:

So.....first time, too, then? Weird that it's only been included in the AMT '65 El Camino (sometimes) since then.

Yes, they are basically the same kit, with some parts differences as you noted, as well as the wheels and the turbocharged engine. I can't recall if the Blackbird kit included smoke-tinted glass or not, but I want to say it did. Hopefully that specific model kit fad is gone for good. It's been a while since I had the Blackbird kit, but I was a little underwhelmed by it to be honest. It seemed typical of late '70s MPC kits, with decent but not super crisp details. The decals were really nice, though, and the finished kit does end up looking quite like the real thing. The underside and engine are the weak areas in the kit from what I recall. I'm guessing Round2 did not acquire the licensing necessary to use the "Trans Am" name this time around, so who knows, maybe we'll get some type of combination of both kits/versions.

Good memory, Vince.
