No desire to see this combo kit reissued but the box art is neat:
-
Yes, that would be great to see the slide in camper included again. Was the below pictured 1969 issue the last in which the camper was included?

Look like AMT's '59 El Camino is going to be reissued as kit #1058. Good to see this one back again.
-
Looks like the 1/16 scale MPC '79 Pontiac Firebird kit is being reissued as kit #862. Hopefully it's the "Turbo Blackbird" version and not the 10th Anniversary T/A version.

I don't think this will be an issue now that the decals in all(?) Round2 kits are made by Cartograf. I guess we'll see when this one is available for purchase: Other than the slightly revised box art and some tampo printed Goodyear Polyglas tires(and I'm guessing no MPC sticker this time), I'm going to guess it's nearly the same as the 2008 reissue.

What does this have to do with a review of the MPC '70 Coroner Super Bee kit? There is a long-existing review topic discussing this exact kit: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/16132-mpc-1970-dodge-coronet-super-bee/

They are nicely detailed, but still enough room to go full-on detail crazy if you wish. The kit is 1/8 scale:

Revell 30 Model A Ford Production Halted?
Casey replied to Daddyfink's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Fair enough. If anyone is worried these kits will never again be produced, by all means, rush out and buy as many as you can. Those of us who believe the kits will be back in production eventually will wait patiently until we hear more from Revell. -

Revell 30 Model A Ford Production Halted?
Casey replied to Daddyfink's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
There is no secrecy. If you can't accept the statement put out by one of Revell's own managers, well, you can always go with #altfacts "Hi, We have some issues involving this kit we cannot discuss at the moment. We are working to resolve them. When we have resolved them and have established a firm direct, we will let everyone know. Until then, please stand by. Sorry we can’t say more until then. Regards, Ed Sexton Revell, Inc." That's very clear and honest comment, and leaves no necessary information out. There are some things in life which are not for public consumption, and we may never know the reasons why, but that does not make it "secretive"-- it just makes it none of our business. If I had more '30 Fords in my stash, you bet I'd flip 'em on eBay now. I have no worries the kit will be back in production before the end of 2017. -
"Also announced at the show will be a new line for A-M "Start-Finish Line 2000" these will be 1/24 NASCAR racers. The first one out will evidently be the Valvoline #6 Ford Taurus." http://www.internetmodeler.com/1999/november/rchta/accurate-miniatures.htm Come on, Dave, we know you have pics of these test shots

I believe so, Charlie: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1961-CORVAIR-STATION-WAGON-KIT-1-25-SCALE-RESIN-/381966456650?hash=item58eef9974a:g:GvMAAOSw2xRYZc1n

That sounds like it might work out well, Steve. Getting the exact amount of material measured out so that when it does melt and conform to the shape of the mold, there is little to no trimming nor sanding of the backside would be ideal. Are the backsides of your lenses smooth, or asked a different way, are the front faces of each lens textured?

Think about how thin the remaining metal would need to be to accurately replicate 1/25 scale (or whichever scale is chosen) lace pattern. Real lace has tiny, tiny spaces, which would be fractions of a millimeter when reduced 25 times I have seen some incredibly thin sections of p/e parts, but I don't think it's structurally possible over a 4"x3" sized piece. Reduce this down 25 times and we're talking thinner than a human hair for each solid squiggle/strip:

That's the easy part. Melting it down, then pouring/injecting it into molds and eliminating any and all imperfections before the plastic starts to harden is not. I've cast some headlight lenses using Alumilite's clear resin, and while it works, the clear resin is more viscous than the non-clear varieties, and much more sensitive to imperfections. If you don't get the lens perfectly clear, it's useless. In my search for good kit-sourced lenses, there were very few which looked like accurate representations of the real 1:1 sealed beam lenses, but the Revell '69 Camaro kit was one which stood out as containing nicely detailed lenses.

And you didn't get the public title to go with it? Gregg did give you the key to the executive bathroom at least...right?

Short review - AMT Trojan Horse Mustang II Funny Car
Casey replied to Chris in Berwyn's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Is there enough material present on the hood or grille piece to account for the loss of material on the wider piece? Considering the real body is a one piece molded fiberglass part, I would align the nose and body piece as best as I could, let the plastic welder flow, then contour as necessary after the joint has fully cured. -

1959 Dodge kit, will it happen?
Casey replied to '70 Grande's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
If Moebius is delaying future variants of existing kits until they sell out, I don't think there's much hope for them investing money in a curbside '59 Dodge. At this point, I don't have much hope for the '59 Rambler wagon, either. -
I think the recently discontinued Revell/Monogram '41 Willys pickup kit is as close as you'll find. I don't recall any other aftermarket sources, and this is the only kit I can recall conatingin lace type decals.

I noticed that, too. That should be a moderator.admin function only, but it functions the same as delete for all practical purposes.
