  1. AFAIK the only bi-scale early Econolines are the Jada 1/24 die-cast models (I think these are what Ed was referring to), which are offered in pickup, panel, and Falcon(?) passenger/window versions. They look decent, and would be a great starting point for a resin conversion, but the die-cast doors open, so the gaps and fit to the body would need to be reworked, any inaccuracies/compromises fixed, and a whole new everything else, short of the powertrains. Lots of work for sure.
  2. I think most of the 1/10 scale masters/buck(?) were thrown away eventually. Tom West saved the Revell Attempt 1 1/10 styling buck and donated it to the International Model Builders' Museum a few years ago.
  3. I moved this topic from Off-Topic in to General Discussion, as it's a topic about the forum, and Gen. Disc. seemed like a more appropriate place. We used to have a pinned "Forum Issues/Problems" topic started by Dave Ambrose, our resident tech guru, in Gen. Disc. which would've been a perfect place to post questions about the pop-up ads. Unfortunately, that topic was gone once the forum came back online a few weeks ago. I can't answer why it was moved back to Off-Topic, nor by whom.
  4. No worries, Jessie. After Ray's comment I just wanted to clarify that guns and gun-related things shouldn't be posted. I think Casey's intent with his original post was to have people share their model-related scores or acquisitions, but somewhere along the way, people started posting non-model related items.
  5. It's not touchy, it's just not appropriate to be posting guns, ammo, etc. on a model building forum. Let's keep things model car/truck related, please. If you want to show off something not model car/truck or 1:1 vehicle related, please post it in the Off-Topic section.

  7. I stand corrected. Competition Resins offer both snorkel and Grump Lump style scoops in 1/12 scale: http://www.compresins.com/site/751597/page/237914 Both are available from Slixx's 'site, too, so all in one shopping if you're picking up the Grumpy's Toy decal sheet for the upcoming Monogram 1/12 Camaro reissue: http://www.slixx.com/s1811.htm?id=1950
  8. I would love to see a widebody StarQuest available. Keep us updated, please.
  9. Looks like progress: http://largescalemodelers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=76
  10. I think they came from Gary @ Galaxie Ltd., as they were originally posted by Gregg K in Gen Disc IIRC.
  11. Another option is to cast as many parts from the mold as you can until it wears out. That way, you have plenty of parts on hand and don't need to worry and storing and preserving the mold.

  13. It's supposed to be reissued in December, and molded in orange. It was shown at iHobby in 2011, but was delayed.
  14. Yes they are. Contact info/website is in post #2.
  15. I had to Google this one: http://www.curbsideclassic.com/curbside-classics-american/curbside-classic-1949-reo-speedwagon-pickup-the-hunting-trophy/
  16. The Wanted sections and the pinned PIF topic are different. One is for specific parts or kits a member is looking for/wanting, and the other is for giving away something you no longer want yourself, but think someone else might. Either way, the Pay It Forward topic was suggested by both Johnny and Tom, so it's up to each person who participates to keep it rolling along by posting something after they claim something. To those who have participated and offered up something for their fellow forum members, thank you.
  17. Maybe try Jerome's House of Resin on eBay? He seems to have quite a few Pro Street chassis available.
  18. ^^ These guys get it.
  19. They are close to Cragars, but the angle of the spokes is very high, and with the way the hub area is missing on the backside...yeah, they look a bit funky. Did you make your own decals for these builds, Mike, or did someone make 1/12 scale Yenko decals?
  20. Bandit Resins makes a '50 Pontiac Coupe: http://www.banditresins.com/1950_pontiac.html
  21. It contains more solids than DC's standard primers, so it will fill in very minor imperfections.
