Yup, coin bank that can hold maybe five bucks
-
I picked up this tired diecast tanker for $20 in order to give it another lease on life. I guess it's part of a series of all "gold" vehicles done by Liberty Classic as coin banks. It took a minute to get apart as the bolts had rusted, and there was some corrosion under the plating, but the scale was a good 1:24 and proportions seemed right. The biggest thing I wanted to address was the stance as both front and rear axles seemed too high. I took about 3/16" height out of both and gave the truck a slightly forward rake. Other than that, I painted the bottom black, silver accents where the plating had come off, a burgundy interior, and voila - - - This actually sits very nicely next to my collection of Ford hot rods, and makes me wonder if maybe there can be such a thing as a hot rod tanker...

Just beautiful Paul! I've got all six of these, and am hoping to build them with slight tweaks of my own. Thank you for posting

Looks waaay cool, Scott! And if you're into T'rantulas, consider the Tiki Trike since it was in essence the three-wheeled version of this icon.

Gorgeous model Mario! But I gotta say, you do such stunning work with your dioramas, lighting and photography that I almost forget to look at the car

Fantastic job Pico! I'm so jealous of your 3D printing abilities. But for the unwary; DON'T look up where the term "dagmars" comes from -
Totally enjoying your build TJ, thank you for posting. I've been giving some thought to these larger scales with the thought that they might be a little easier with my fumbly hands and tired eyes...

Way cool Andrew! Paul would have loved it ?

Great job Michelle! This is my favorite design of KITT after the original, and you did wonderfully showcasing its gadgets. Oh, and the edited pics are a great touch

An uncommon car with custom touches and a great stance on some cool rolling stock. Totally loving it!
-
Very tasty build. Well done Sir!

Just gorgeous Justin! I have to admit I have a soft spot for this car as I had a 65 Impala SS in Tahitian Turquoise years ago, and built a model of it later on myself.
-
Just beautiful! I particularly like the attention you gave to textures. Well done Tom!
-
So cool Michelle. It looks as good in back as it does in the front!

Aaah, the 70's! I love your homage to the era. Well built as usual!

Beautiful build, great photos, and wonderful tips Jürgen. Thank you for posting! -
Well done Al! And I especially love the "Rocky Balboa" monicker

I never noticed the swooping lines on the Plymouth Coupe of this era before. Your body treatment and stance absolutely do it justice. Well done!

I'm liking the subdued color combo - looks very period correct. I'm also going to need to pull my AMT out of mothballs and break the seal to see if I have the correct tub...
