  1. Jameston @ Scale Finishes also stocks these. Are they plastic or resin?
  2. This thing looks awesome. Not sure if you know it, but Zvezda makes a lighting kit specifically for this kit, there is a few on eBay.
  3. Can't get any better than Joseph @ Fireball
  4. A year or so ago (just checked, June 10, 2014), Bob posted to his Model Car Garage Facebook page about upcoming new releases. I believe there was a mention of a new sets for the '67-68 Shelby, most of what he mentioned has already been released. Perhaps there is more to come this year. The NNL East preview photo shows a Shelby set somewhere in the middle of the huge sheet.
  5. A couple days on one, 24 hrs on another.
  6. I did one where the silicone was nearly 1/2" thick and the main body of the silicone was undamaged, but the surface attached to part I want to make a mold of shredded while trying to peel it off. There are still bits of silicone embedded in the details on the surface of the part.
  7. Well I bought a tube of Permatex Black silicone and did a few tests. Everything I applied it to, it become one with the part, impossible to remove with destroying the part and the silicone mold. I even tried cover parts in Baremetal foil first, it saves the original part, but the foil cannot be removed from the mold rendering it useless.
  8. This is interesting, one of my projects is the AMT '72 Blazer. I have wanted to cast the side marker lights and a few other bits on the body. So if I put a dab of Permatex Black silicone directly on the body, it will peel off without damage to the kit body? Or do I need to apply the kitchen foil first?
  9. I wish they did this one first instead of the Missle, that one doesn't do anything for me. This one I will buy multiples of, so many great cars can be built.
  10. Joseph @ Fireball Modelworks offers this carb. FMR-092
  11. What years would this style be in use?
  12. Good luck on the '62 Nova buildup, I have been working on a '62 Nova convertible for several years (currently on hold until I find some key parts and more $$$). Yours looks to be fairly solid and I noticed someone already swapped in a 5 bolt hub rear end.
  13. Replicas & Miniatures does a cheater slick in hard black resin, not sure if it the Johan SS slick, I have a set of the R&M slicks at home. Anyone looks at the slick from the new amt Surf Woody? http://www.collectormodel.com/round2-models/2508-amt-mpc-cars-trucks-the-devil-is-in-the-details/#comments
  14. When ordering from Scale Finishes, you can request that the paint be mixed in basecoat rather than enamel. Everything I order now from Scale Finishes is in basecoat, It dries fast, can be cleared within minutes of being sprayed. The 2k clearcoat sets up within 24 hrs and your ready to go.
  15. Nice color combination, my Mom's '57 Bel Air 2 dr hardtop was the same color. If you have an airbrush you can go to Scale Finishes or MCW. If no airbrush MCW can mix it in a spray can for you. http://www.mcwautomotivefinishes.com/ -5701 Surf Green -5706 Highland Green Met.
  16. Not the same as the JPS Aluminum wheels, I have a set of the aluminium wheels and they were very nice. I don't think they are around anymore, they catered mostly to the RC crowd http://www.jpspro.com/
  17. Looks good built-up. Hmm, odd the exhaust goes straight up, mine runs under the tractor.
  18. I looked into this before, apparently it has something to do with the size. For example, it is ok to ship a 1 oz bottle vs larger sizes such as a quart, gallon etc.
  19. Is the $35 shipping charge just an example at 3lb or a minimum charge? On average, how much would 4 jars weight?
  20. Nice to hear! Sorry to offend you, but I was referring to the previous owner.
  21. Check with Scott @ Elm City Hobbies http://www.elmcityhobbies.com/shop/index.php?main_page=advanced_search_result&search_in_description=1&keyword=daytona+yellow Do you have an airbrush? Order some ScaleFinishes from Scott or go to your local autobody paint supplier and have them mix a touchup bottle, thin it and airbrush it.
  22. Sorry I don't as each batch may be different. Rule of thumb, thin to consistency of skim milk.
  23. Growing up we had a couple '62 Windsor's, the grille was silver on all of them. Any 300 I have seen had a black grille.
