  1. Perhaps we can suggest this to one of the photo-etchers like Model Car Garage. A reasonable sized maybe 3x4 piece of photo-etched lace in correct scale that we can use as a paint template. Thick enough to withstand being washed off and reused repeatedly. I have wanted to build a replica of my uncle's Thames Panel Gasser that had lace painted panels, finding the correct lace pattern is all that is holding me back, it was a notable feature of the car.
  2. Scale Production has a couple different sizes of headlight lenses, very nice. http://www.scaleproduction.de/product_info.php?info=p1294_headlights-7mm.html
  3. Not surprised, most everything I have seen or bought from Acu-Stion was too big, wrong, did not fit, etc, etc. Although, I have a very nice Borrani wire wheel from them, but I havn't assembled them yet.
  4. Looks like a Barris original.
  5. There was 2 Shawn Carpenter sets on eBay last week, a 1955 and 1957 kit. They went for around $75 a piece. I see them on eBay at least twice a year. I lost out on one last year at $150, I had no spare cash this time round unfortunately.
  6. You take some Evergreen strip, eg 0.080 x 0.060, a size which is thick enough for your length and width, then trim the strip to the height. Then carve to shape and spray with Alclad. Steve Boutte did an article in SAE a few years back on the same subject.
  7. What does being in Canada have anything to do with shipping times? It ships just as fast as anywhere else, 8-10 days at most. It takes them 8-10 weeks to get the product out the door. It is just like saying US Post shipping times are 9 months because a Modelhaus order took that long to be received.
  8. Paint looks great. I would not try sanding the candy. Try some polishing compound on the dust spots, if they are not too deep they will come right off. Then hot soapy water to get the polishing compound off.
  9. Try Keith Marks http://public.fotki.com/mofobow/chevy/camaro/74_z28/
  10. The glass stain I use comes in white as well.
  11. Rather than worrying about thinning the paint for you airbrush and the fact the flakesize may be too large and out of scale. Just order your paint pre-thinned from Zero paints. You may be able to request a color not listed in tjeir catalog, not sure they do custom mixing. I have requested colors in the past and the added to their catalog. I use an Iwata HP-C Plus with 0.3 nozzle with no issuea,so you 0.5 should be no problem.
  12. Not sure how much of a texture you want. I have used Krylon Stone paint, they come in coarse and fine, get the fine the coarse won't work. I light coat will give some texture ( a little heavier coat gives more texture), then follow up with your choice of paint. I have also used this to replicate the wrinkle black finish on Hemi valve covers, texture on interior parts and spray on bed liner on trucks.
  13. Joseph does offer these as non-4WD without locking hubs. See the picture in his original post on the left 4x2 (2WD), no locking hubs.
  14. Hmm, odd as they are the exact same paint code along with olds Tampico red and Buick Cardinal red
  15. I own a 1962 Nova convertible black on red. Parts of the interior are painted Roman Red (Mandalay Red) and yes it is a bright red as in the picture.
  16. Is this the one? It would be Mandalay Red same code as Chevy Roman Red, the only solid red for 1962, the other red is a metallic being Honduras Maroon(Chevy) / Garnet Mist(Pontiac).
  17. His '62 Pontiac was Silver w/ Blue interior. Here is an article of the car, http://www.hotrod.com/articles/hppp-1210-1962-pontiac-super-duty-catalina/
  18. Love this kit and the Thames. I wish Revell could beaf up the rocker area around the front door opening at the lower front fender. Seems to always snap the rocker there or at the rear of the door.
  19. Scott's reply reminded me of these that I purchased recently. Heat shrink tubing in various sizes with microscopic printing on it. I purchased a couple feet of each size, enough to last a lifetime with sizes to do spark plug boots all the way up to heater and radiator hoses. For complex bends like a radiator hose, bend some hard wire to shape then add the heat shrink tubing, looks good. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/1-meter-Heat-Shrink-Tube-Tubing-Heatshrink-Sleeving-Wrap-Wire-Cable-0-6mm-25mm-/162290472139?var=&hash=item25c94414cb
  20. I had a spool of wire I found at the garage dump, don't know what it was, but perfect size for heater hoses. I lost the roll a few years ago. It was black with lettering down the sides and had fine white hairs instead of wire. Some sort of fibre cable?? no clue, but was great and have never seen anything like it since.
  21. I ordered a '68 Coronet on the last day they were online.
