  1. Thanks Bill, You were right, twist of the blade and it started spraying. And Thanks Vernon, I swapped out a Tamiya nozzle and it worked perfect. I think it is a much finer pattern than the PlastiKote nozzle. And in Bill's original post, YES DupliColor primer is very hot compared to what it was. I have a fresh can of black primer and it crazes anything it touches. yet, I have a year old can of Hot Rod Grey and no problems at all.
  2. I have 3 cans of PlastiKote with the new style top. Each one is unusable as there is no air in the can and they are all between 3/4 and full. I have 1 old can that has maybe a tablespoon of paint in it and it still sprays great right to empty. I have since switched to Tamiya primers. I received some Gravity Colors primer last week that I havn't tried yet.
  3. I noticed the front door line turns and goes toward the front of the car as it gets towards the side window. Not sure what about the rear 1/4 area, other than being a bit rough at the roof line.
  4. I thought the 1/16th 1955 Nomad was September? Oh well, I can maybe pay some bills. Any details on the Nomad yet, are they doing any upgrades to the parts or maybe new printed whitewall tires.
  5. Try Scale Productions again, they are doing another run of them now from what I hear.. https://www.facebook.com/scaleproduction/photos/br.AbobzFicodAByFBTNy3y96d2EkmMvosPgqcNiBolBT3O6RUjKbV9X0rWKFl5whbN-yswgOjwAr1xE0BtveOJZiJ8xbwM-_CTeK1sJboj2C-_39_CiBnFaYpwTClssISxSIGz_Vj86nG2WCEnnf3JQMlggNuFT-EGsVIW4HOrhlStKEzLzv4bywXYhLl-VNAEKnk/1467137469979481/?type=3&theater
  6. I forget which movie, maybe f & f but they hit a button and the blower starts to spin up.... so fake.
  7. Mine too! Lost one on eBay a few weeks ago for under $50 in unbuilt condition, eBay never sent me the outbid notice. Lost it by .50 cents.
  8. Just email Joseph, they are available. I emailed Joseph with an order a few days ago and he admitted that he forgot to post these when he posted the Hemi carbs.
  9. how about the dash from Missing Link Resin? http://www.ebay.ca/itm/resin-AMT-1968-9-Plymouth-Correct-Roadrunner-GTX-Dash-Clear-Red-tailllights-/351817160881?hash=item51e9efd8b1:g:QhkAAOSwv-NWUlyf
  10. I hope you do a WIP on this when you get to it. I have most of an original AlaKart and was also thinking of merging it with the new-tool. I have a second new-tool AlaKart still sealed which I had signed by Barris, don't think I want to break that one open.
  11. Doesn't anyone watch Blue Bloods, the car is sitting in a garage in New York in perfect condition.... If only that were true. I would love to have a Bullitt Mustang.
  12. Looks great. I am wondering how difficult it will be to paint all the individual body panels and still have everything open and close correctly.Nice to see Aoshima going full detail in the last few kits.
  13. Looks not too bad. I would rather drive that, than the wood grained K-car wagon I drove when going to University.
  14. Are you thinking of Marcos Cruz's buildup of his '62 Catalina. He did cover how he painted the interior in the thread
  15. I would go with the 440 4bbl since you have the correct power bulge hood. I believe when you ordered a Hemi it came with the twin scoop ram air hood.
  16. I have two of these containers; one for Super Clean and the other for alcohol. Since the top has a rubber seal and locking cover, I keep them filled at all times and always ready for a stripping job. The container is large enough to fit a body. I also have a stainless steel wire basket used in ultra-sonic cleaners that I can put small parts into and drop into the stripping container without having to fish them out. Got mine at Walmart and found the wire basket on eBay under Jeweler supplies.
  17. Looks awesome, good job. The color looks the way I remember F5 green, it just needs a dark green vinyl top
  18. Just wanted to warn you, I never noticed it until I a nice glossy finish on the body. You are probably right, there is some shrinkage or distortion going on there from the huge sprue attachment.
  19. Here is an image of my Super Bee to illustrate what I am talking about (red curves). The drivers side is curved, while the passenger side is flatter in the center.
  20. Looking good, I wish I still had the couple I had. Just curious, something that bothers me with the AMT/MPC 1970 Super Bee which I believe is based on this one originally. If you look at each side of the car in the door area, one side is rounded properly from the rocker panel up to the bottom of the side window. The other side is flattened in the middle of the door. I noticed this after applying a beautiful Plum Crazy paint, I thought I over sanded on one side causing this, but starting over with the latest release of the kit shows the same problem. Does that same problem exist with the 1969 body? Also, I notice as in the 1970 Super Bee kit, the upper quarter panel body line is not suppose to carry though the door above the door handle. The picture below shows how it ends at the door. Easy to sand off and makes a huge difference.
  21. wow, how did you fit those dial calipers around the 1:1 57 chevy? Must be the extra large set. I totally agree, the main reason I put mine back in the box when it orginally came out. Without a set of calipers looking down the body is noticably wedge shaped, too wide in the rear.
  22. The base is lacquer based vs enamel based. Yes it needs to be cleared, it is not your conventional one step lacquer that you color sand and polish if you want to. My personal preference was lacquer, but after trying the base, I won't go back, I love it. Coverage is amazing, dries fast, then once you spray the 2k clear your done or you can sand and polish like lacquer. No waiting for enamels to dry (do they ever really dry?) or for your lacquer to dry and shrink (I have polished lacquers too soon only to find they dulled a bit after they fully dried weeks later, having to polish it again) For more than a year, I have been requesting that Jameston mix all my colors in base, even '50s and '60s colors.
  23. I have stopped using brake fluid or Easy Off. Now I keep two tubs on hand, one with 99% isopropyl alcohol and the other with Super Clean. There hasn't been a finish that either of these two couldn't remove.
  24. Thanks Scott! Those are nice. Expect an order soon, didn't realize you had so many cool parts.
  25. Looks good. I still have my Mom and Dad's 1969 Nova in Butternut Yellow.
