Plum crazy purple with what interior color
Mike Chernecki replied to Riley Customs's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Although not a Dodge, but my cousin had a 1970 Chevy c10 pickup that was special ordered Plum Crazy with white interior. There was also an old lady in town that had special ordered a 1970 Olds Cutlass in Plum Crazy with white interior. Very attractive color combination. -
If this is a solid color polishing should be fine. Beware that the run may still be soft and wet in the thickest part of the run. Allow extra time to fully cure. I had a similar issue with some 2k clear. Once fully cured I used a razor blade to shave the run level with the surface then polished out. Not sure if this would work in your situation.

My uncle had a '56 Nomad in this color, beautiful car.

I don't think there was a darker green color that was painted, the vinyl had a darker shade green, but I have no idea what would match. Other than finding some original vinyl samples and having it color matched.

Michael, if you do decide to order the Harvest Gold & Ivory, remember to grab a bottle of Neptune Green. Every '55 I have seen in this combination had a Neptune green dash and steering wheel.

Steve, beautiful Pontiac. I gave up trying to get a good picture showing the true color, hard color to photograph, may try again outside on a sunny day.

Scale Finishes has all the 1955 Chevy colors in airbrush ready bottles. As an example of 5-6-7 Chevy paints from Scale Finishes, here is a '56 Nomad I am working on, done in Laurel Green/Crocus Yellow.

Seen in the Mobeius booth at NNL East
Mike Chernecki replied to gtx6970's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Looking at the reflection of the trailer fender on the lower front fender of the car is almost mirror-like, maybe this was a candy Tangerine as suggested above. But I do agree it does look like Turbine Bronze. Btw, what range of years of Dodge/Plymouth would this chassis platform be correct to support more releases in the future? 64-65? 63? -

Mike Chernecki replied to gtx6970's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
That would be my guess as well. Turbine Bronze Poly would have been available in 1963-64 when the Turbine cars were built. Pictures of the Turbine cars sure look like the color of the Golden Commandos car. I don't think a color from 1970 would have been available that early. If you compare actual paint formulas, maybe the two are similar and close enough to substitute one for the other. -

Saw this on some NNL photos on another forum, SteveG mentioned he would have something new hidden on the tables. I guess this is it. -
Crisp pinstripe lines.
Mike Chernecki replied to Rider's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Something I tried that worked well. Lightly airbrush your pinstripe color first, spraying only where your stripe will be. Then layout your pinstripe tape. Fog your tape with clear to seal the edge. Then mask one side of the pinstripe and spray lets say your blue. Then pull the masking tape off leaving your pinstripe tape intact. Then mask off the blue and spray the orange. In the end your pinstripe tape has only ever had one color sprayed against each side. Each time mask to the center of the pinstripe tape. If you are brave and have a steady hand, you can put masking paper over the pinstripe tape and cut directly on it to simplify masking. -
Can we assume Scale Motorsports will come out with another Super Detail kit for the C7R as they did for the C6R.

Bill, Gorgeous Impala... the color makes it. The upper door roof trim looks great and really makes a difference. -
Yes, the Copo is the most accurate big block Nova kit.

I don't know enough about McLaren's to know if this is the same model as the kit coming out. This a one of many McLaren's in Winnipeg, but this one is driven in the snow. I want this as my winter car.
