  1. Haven't forgotten about this build. Been working on a couple of fiddly things on this model that require some additional attention such as the tail lights are being redone, a bit of putty work here and there where needed and whatever else I see that comes up before paint work. ?? Joe
  2. Now this is a cool custom! Well done! ? Joe
  3. I am also in favor of using the CA glue instead of White Glue. I would sure hate to see those tubs pop apart from this model when finished as it won't be pretty. ? For peace of mind please consider using the CA glue. Joe
  4. The model is coming together nicely. Best to you and your wife during her knee replacement surgery. Joe
  5. Not laughing! Congratulations on your 1st Place win with this very nice model. ? Joe

  7. Welcome to the forum, Blake! Joe
  8. Some of them...definitely! ??? Joe
  9. Very nice model! Always liked the livery on these cars. Well done! ? Joe
  10. Great looking model and nice color choice. ? Joe
  11. This thread really opens the floodgates. I was at the garage one day, years ago, and there was a very beautiful blonde lady, in her twenties (?) perhaps, standing at the service counter. They were discussing her 1961 Chevy Impala Convertible that was 409 equipped. The service guy was holding an absolutely filthy and quite dark looking air filter in his hands and had determined that she lived on a country road that was not asphalt covered. He asked her how long it had been since she changed the air filter. She looked at him and asked him just where he got that filter from. Enough said...? Joe
  12. A great post! Congratulations on finding the photos and having the good memories. ? Joe
  13. Ok, lots being posted here. To be sure I am reading the information correctly, the regular Rustoleum primer (red, white, grey and black) is all right to use on plastic model parts. 2K Primer is not to be used on plastic models. Regular (not the 2K type) Rustoleum spray paint is okay to use on plastic models, though perhaps not as the best choice; Duplicolor would be the better choice. Correct me if I have this wrong. ? Joe
  14. Last photo within first post: magnets holding body secure and magnets holding rear bumper square to the body. Another use would be using the magnets to hold wheel/tire assemblies square to the chassis/axle assembly. Other uses up to the model builder. ? Joe
  15. Another good storage idea. Joe
  16. I once stopped a car, while employed as a police officer, because it was actually wobbling down the street at road speed. I mean really wobbling! You could see the tires moving on the hubs when the car went past! Walked up to the vehicle and the driver jumped out of the car and hollered at me asking why the ‘elI I stopped him. He, a young man, had loosened all of the lug nuts on all of the wheels because he thought it “cool looking” as it went down the street. It was a little Chevette… and it quickly went to the impound yard while I called the 16 year old’s parents to come to the station. They weren’t impressed by his idea of “cool” either and he ended up spending quite some time earning the money to pay for the wheel/vehicle damage. Didn’t drive for awhile either. Never was surprised at the stupidity some drivers would display and wonder how he explained the situation at the garage when the car was repaired. Joe
  17. Yesterday evening I thought I would go through some storage boxes to see what I could find by way of model paint. Was surprised at the quantity of various types of Testors spray paint in plenty of colors along with some cans of primer. Also came across a number of small Testors paint jars in various colors and plenty of Testors thinner. I like an enamel finish on a model so with the paint find and my dehydrator I will see how it goes. I am also going to look for a single coffee cup/warming plate combination item to use in the shop as a dedicated spray can warmer; can put water in the cup, turn the unit on and keep the spray can warm between coats of paint. At least that’s the plan for now…?
  18. Way to go! This is really great to see and the facial expressions are priceless. Of course I had to chuckle at the prerequisite cookies and crackers snacks! ? A tip of the hat to you, Sir. ? Joe
  19. Yesterday I bought a Sparmax Cleaning Pot for use in the shop. Nice, heavy, glass pot for cleaning fluids and solid construction throughout the item. Joe
  20. The hanging files idea for storing plastic sheets is a good one. If you don’t have the hanging files you can also use use something like these file holders; use Manila folders with the identity tags as is or put three staples in each side to close/hold the sides shut and make a pouch. Joe
  21. Really nice looking model coming together and great color choice. Joe
  22. Yes! ? Very nice model and great details on this model. Sure do like your color choice. Well done! Joe
